Qingshan District Heping Avenue construction of the third road intersection has a large flow of people. At this intersection, there are often pedestrians crossing Heping Avenue on the north-south zebra crossing and motor vehicles turning left into Heping Avenue in the construction of the third road, especially during peak hours, resulting in vehicles and pedestrians stranded and poor traffic.
Du Chunsheng introduced that the intersection of the three roads of the construction of Heping Avenue is one of the "exquisite intersections" built by the Qingshan Brigade, and the hospitals, schools, and large shopping malls around the intersection are piled up, and the flow of people and traffic at the intersection is dense, and the construction of the three roads has only two lanes, coupled with the narrowing of the lanes caused by the construction of the surrounding subway line 5, and the overall traffic conditions of the road are weakened. In addition, because the Heping Road is wide, the north-south pedestrians pass through the intersection slowly and time-consuming, and it is easy to clash with vehicles that turn left to enter and exit the Heping Avenue after the green light of the intersection, resulting in traffic stagnation and congestion at the intersection.
Du Chunsheng said that in response to this problem, the Qingshan Brigade took 3 measures after conducting on-site research.
The first is to strengthen the police force at the intersection, implement the traffic post service from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., increase the number of Han police to ride fast in the morning and evening peaks to strengthen traffic diversion, and quickly and properly deal with sudden police situations such as road congestion, traffic accidents, and bad weather.
The second is to optimize the timing of signal lights and "time for space". Convert the east-west red lights of the main road of Heping Avenue into a gap of north-south green lights, and light up the green lights of the north-south crosswalk signal in advance to facilitate pedestrians to cross the street, so as to avoid the conflict of pedestrians crossing the street when the motor vehicle turns left.
The third is to optimize traffic markings, on the inside of the pedestrian crossing line, implement non-motorized passages, strengthen guidance, let pedestrians and non-motorized vehicles go their own way, ensure the safety of pedestrians and non-motorized vehicles, and ensure the safety and smoothness of intersection traffic.
