This document is a collection of well-known Communist anti-Japanese generals and cadres collected and summarized by Japanese agents, as well as underground workers who have been detected by the Japanese army (!!! The list of pro-communist social sages and others was sent directly to the "Sugiyama Force Headquarters" as "extremely secret" documents -- this refers to the general headquarters of its North China Dispatch Army headed by Japanese Army General Sugiyama Moto, and its content is quite detailed.

Speaking of which, even friends who have a better understanding of the history of the War of Resistance are probably confused -- who is this Chengde who can be listed with many founding generals? In addition, the three detachments fighting in the Guangling area of Shanxi, is this not the name of General Zeng Yongya's troops? How did the commander's last name come to Zhang?
In fact, this Zhang Chengde is still quite famous, but not in the history of the War of Resistance, but because of a controversy unconsciously became a celebrity.
This controversy occurred in 2014, when the Ministry of Civil Affairs published the first list of 300 heroes of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, which fully expressed China's admiration and importance for the martyrs who died in the War of Resistance Against Japan. Among them, Zhang Chengde, the commander of the Third Division of the Second Army of the Army Cavalry Army, caused some different voices, and official information from Gai showed that the general died in the early stage of the Taiyuan Campaign in 1937, but it was found that a bandit "Zhang Chengde" was suppressed by our army in 1939. As a result, whether the two Zhang Chengde are the same person has caused controversy.
The historical Zhang Chengde was originally a famous green forest tycoon in Chahar, because he could see things at night and wear Yang in a hundred steps, and got the nickname "Wild Cat Zhang". In 1926, his unit was chahar du tong, and Gao Weiyue, commander of the Ninth Army of the Northeast Army, was reorganized and appointed commander of the cavalry division. However, because it was a recruited team after all, his position in the Northeast Army has always been very unstable. By the time of the War of Resistance, he must have been in his fifties.
The "Great River and Mountain" on the gate of Zhangjiakou is inscribed by Gao Weiyue, Zhang Chengde's benefactor, who had national integrity in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and should also have the influence of this metropolitan government.
Heroic martyrs or bandits, whether the two Zhang Chengde are the same person, there is still no conclusion. However, this Zhang Chengde, who was still active in Shanxi in 1939, actually had contacts with General Zeng Yongya.
According to Ms. Zeng Ying's recollection, this Zhang Chengde's troops had a lot of troops, the anti-Japanese resistance was relatively resolute, and if they were to leave the Kuomintang army, they retreated to Guangling, where our three detachments were stationed, because of the defeat in the battle with the Japanese army. Because Zhang Bu was an old army, he disturbed the people badly as soon as he came, but the people did not support him in a good anti-Japanese armed force. Therefore, General Zeng Yongya was given the task of fighting for "Night Cat Zhang", hoping to pull him to the side of the Eighth Route Army.
At that time, the strength of the three detachments was not more than Zhang Chengde,, and according to the brain of the old soldier who ate small fish with big fish, it was certainly not feasible to do his ideological work. Fortunately, General Zeng was trained by the Long March, and there were good methods inside and outside the battlefield. Although the troop strength is not superior, we have an advantage that "Night Cat Zhang" cannot compare, that is, we are good at doing ideological work and local work.
Therefore, with the efforts of General Zeng Yongya, who served as secretary of the Guangling County Party Committee and county magistrate, most of the local villages and towns became our base areas, which meant that Zhang Chengde, who lived by forced conscription, soon lost the source of supplies. Just imagine, even Chiang Kai-shek did not go to the countryside, how could Zhang Chengde, who was born in the green forest, understand the importance of mass work?
When Zhang Chengde was worried, General Zeng wrote to him, calling him "division seat", welcomed him to Guangling to resist the war, and invited him to the county government to "discuss the great plan of anti-Japanese resistance." Zhang Chengde was somewhat moved, and had no choice but to half push and half come to the spot.
During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Zeng Yongya was more than thirty years younger than Zhang Chengde, but when it comes to the old spicy of doing work, "Night Cat Zhang" is not an opponent.

When Zhang Chengde heard this, he did not expect it: the Communist Eighth Route Army extended its hand to him.

Probably because Zhang Chengde's troops often fought with three detachments, he was considered by the dead-eyed Japanese agents to have defected to the Communists. After all, he had served as a division commander in the Kuomintang army and was quite famous, while although Zeng Yongya had made many military achievements in the Red Army, before establishing three detachments, he was only the commander of the enemy engineering unit of the independent regiment of the 115th Division in the Eighth Route Army, and the Japanese agents obviously ignored him. In this way, the enemy put the title of commander of the three detachments on Zhang Chengde.
This was nothing, but Zhang Chengde had been defeated by the Mongolian army commanded by Abe Norihide, and for him he belonged to the defeated generals, so when he fought with the Eighth Route Army, he naturally did not take the three detachments seriously. As a result, the arrogant Lieutenant Abe blackened the "wolf seducer" Zeng Yongya, who was hiding in the shadows, and finally threw his old life in the Loess Ridge.
