The "Tsinghua Special Award", known as the Tsinghua University Special Scholarship, has been established since 1989 to encourage students to study hard during their time at the university, develop in an all-round way, and give full play to their respective expertise in order to cultivate more talents with excellent moral, intellectual and physical comprehensive quality.
According to the "Tsinghua University Special Scholarship Selection Measures", after student application, department qualification review, department preliminary evaluation and the first round of selection of the school, a total of 15 candidates were shortlisted for the 2021 Tsinghua University Special Scholarship (Undergraduate) Defense Committee.
According to data released by Tsinghua University, the 15 shortlisted candidates this year are concentrated in about 21 years old, of which 2 are 20 years old, 9 are 21 years old, and 4 are 22 years old; there are 10 boys and 5 girls, and the ratio of men to women is 2:1.
Among the 15 candidates, 7 have won national scholarships and 12 have won comprehensive excellence awards, of which 2 have won the "12.9" scholarship and 3 have won the Jiang Nanxiang scholarship. In addition, there are also candidates who have won important scholarships from departments such as the Yao Zhizhi Scholarship. Four students have won the honors of outstanding student cadres or outstanding communist youth league members of Tsinghua University.
