On April 15, some villagers responded to the central environmental protection inspection team, saying that there was a pig farm upstream of the Shikang Reservoir in Shikang Town, Hepu County, and that in recent times, the farm has continued to discharge sewage and feces into the Shikang Reservoir.
After receiving the clues handed over by the inspection team, on the 16th, the relevant person in charge of the Beihai Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau immediately led the team and carried out verification together with the Shikang Town Government. After investigation, the pig farm is located in Shikang Reservoir, Shiping Village, Dongchong Village Committee, Shikang Town, with an area of about 120 square meters, and now has 29 pigs.
According to law enforcement officers, the pig farm is owned by a local villager and was built in March this year. On-site inspections found that the pig farm did not have wastewater treatment facilities, and its farmed sewage was discharged directly into the Shikang Reservoir through a nearby ditch.

In view of the above problems, the joint working group immediately instructed farmers to take measures to scientifically dispose of pig manure and sewage and other wastes to prevent further pollution of the environment, and ordered the illegal parties to immediately dismantle the illegal pig farms.

On the afternoon of April 17, the Beihai Municipal Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau, together with the Hepu County Agricultural and Rural Bureau and the Shikang Town Government, once again inspected the pig farm and found that all the pigs in the pig farm had been cleaned up and the compartment in the pig pen had been removed. At the same time, the sewage ditch discharged into the Shikang Reservoir has also been blocked. The relevant person in charge of the Beihai Municipal Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau said that it will continue to track and inspect the implementation to ensure that the rectification and reform achieve practical results.
