Beijing, October 27 (CCTV) -- The Voice of China of the Central Radio and Television Corporation and the National Radio station jointly launched a special report, "A Moment in the Centenary of the Communist Party of China." This issue was launched: the "combination of two bombs" test was successful.

At 9:10 a.m. on October 27, 1966, China's first Dongfeng-2A missile with a nuclear warhead was launched from the Jiuquan Launch Base in Gansu Province. After flying for 9 minutes and 14 seconds, the nuclear warhead exploded over the bullseye over Lop Nur in Xinjiang, 894 kilometers away from the launch site, and the test was successful, and China has since possessed missile nuclear weapons that can be used in actual combat. Many years later, Xie Fangyuan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, still clearly remembers the exciting scene at that time.

Xie Fangyuan: After taking off for a while, I haven't finished the active section, I'm about to fall down dozens of kilometers away, they all came out, and they couldn't control them: one was a marshal, the other was Qian Xuesen, who could control it?

On October 16, 1964, China's first atomic bomb was successfully detonated, shocking the world, but at that time, some people in the world ridiculed China for having a bullet and no gun. In the face of doubts, the central authorities decided to conduct a combined atomic bomb and missile test in 1966 to form a nuclear deterrent capability as soon as possible, and the test site was placed in the sparsely populated Northwest Gobi Desert.

On October 20, 1966, on the eve of the official launch of the missile nuclear weapons test, Premier Zhou Enlai convened a meeting of the responsible persons and scientists of the participating units in the Great Hall of the People, stressing that the combination of the two bombs has a great relationship, and it is necessary to be serious, thoughtful, meticulous, sound, reliable, and foolproof. At the same time, Zhou Enlai entrusted Marshal Nie Rongzhen to the test site to preside over the test.

A loud noise from Lop Nur once again shook the world. The success of the "two-bomb combination" test marks the rapid development of China's scientific and technological and national defense forces, and at the same time completely breaks the nuclear monopoly, nuclear blackmail and nuclear threat of the superpowers.

Li Huai box, the operator of the light measurement brigade of the Dongfeng Base at that time: When we were on the mission, these people all ran to that instrument table and stood on a tall building, we succeeded, we also had nuclear weapons, we were strong, we had the strength to defend the motherland, and we shouted (shouted) everywhere.

After the successful missile and nuclear weapons test, Marshal Nie Rongyu immediately called to report to the Party Central Committee.

Gao Lianke, technician at the Malan Base Research Institute at the time: The red phone Nie Shuai picked up, and I remember the original words very clearly, because I was standing behind him. Nie Shuai said, "I report to you that the combined test of missiles and nuclear weapons was very successful, and I ask you to report to Chairman Mao on my behalf." ”

From the first nuclear explosion to the birth of the first missile nuclear weapon, it took the United States thirteen years, the Soviet Union six years, and China only two years. The success of the "two-bomb combination" test made China the fifth country in the world after the United States, the Soviet Union, Britain, and France to launch nuclear weapons with its own missiles, and the first country in the world to conduct a two-bomb combination test on its own soil.
