Fan Zeng, born in 1938 in Nantong, Jiangsu Province, is a master of Chinese painting and calligraphy, a famous sinologist and poet. He is currently a Chair Professor of Peking University, the Dean of the Institute of Chinese Painting Law, an Honorary Doctor of Literature from the University of Glasgow in the United Kingdom and the University of Alberta in Canada, a doctoral supervisor and tenured researcher of the China Academy of Arts, a tenured professor at Nankai University, a doctoral supervisor at the School of Letters and History of Nankai University, a tenured professor at Nantong University, and the dean of Jishan College and Panshan College. In 2008, he was awarded the Order of gold of the Citizen Star of France. In 2009, he was appointed "Special Adviser on Multiculturalism" by UNESCO. In September 2010, French President Sarkozy awarded Mr. Fan Zeng the "Chevalier de l'Ordre de la Légion In 2011, he won the "China Art and Literature Lifetime Achievement Award". On June 30, 2015, Italian President Sergio awarded Mr. FanZeng the Grand General of the Italian Republic.

 Mr. Fan Zeng was born into a famous cultural family that has lasted for 13 generations of poets in China for 450 years. In the fields of literature, history and philosophy, he advocated "returning to the classical and returning to nature", practicing the aesthetic principle of "taking poetry as the soul and taking books as the bone", contributing greatly to the development of Chinese painting and creating a precedent for "neoclassical" art. In his writings, history and philosophy, the humanistic care revealed by him has been praised by scholars at home and abroad, and the majesty and beauty of his articles have been repeatedly praised as the first choice in The Sea. As UNESCO's Special Adviser on Diversity, he has published special reports on "Returning to Classics, Returning to Nature", "Approaching Nature" and "Fundamental Goodness" at UNESCO Headquarters. In 1984, the Fanzen Museum of Art was established in Okayama Prefecture, Japan, which is the only chinese person in the world to enjoy this honor. In 1986, Mr. Fan Zeng donated to the construction of the Oriental Art Building of Nankai University. Mr. Fan Zeng has a twenty-four-word self-evaluation: obsessed with painting, able to write; occasionally lyrical, quite lyrical; good reading history, a little understanding of the changes of ancient and modern times.
