The first two issues showed a gallery of the Nimitz-class aircraft carriers I and II, and this one goes on to show a gallery of the third ship, the CARL Vinson.

The aircraft carrier CARL Vinson was laid with keels and construction began on 11 October 1975 at the Newport News Shipyard in Virginia, launched on 15 March 1980 and commissioned on 13 March 1982.

The USS Carl Vinson, with San Diego as its home port, is an aircraft carrier frequently deployed by the U.S. Navy to cruise in the western Pacific Ocean, and has participated in many hot events and operations.

Carl Vinson is a well-known U.S. Congressman who has served in the U.S. House of Representatives for more than 50 years, served as chairman of the House Naval Affairs Committee for many years, and was one of the first important members of the United States to understand the importance of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers for future sea power expansion and actively promote the development of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers. To thank Congressman Vincent for his contributions to the U.S. Navy, the military named the newly built aircraft carrier in his name.
