Fully equipped with state-of-the-art pediatric and neonatal life support technology, Panda One will take off from Bishop Airport in Flint, dramatically improving response times for patients from Genesee, Saginaw County and thumb areas.
Kathy Donovan, CEO of DMC Children's Hospital in Michigan, said, "The timing of transporting critically ill children is important. This increase in assets allows us to better serve our patients, their families and the communities we serve. At this moment, I am extremely proud. ”
As a mobile extension of Children's Hospital of Michigan, the Panda One team transports more than 1,200 patients a year from hospitals throughout the state, surrounding states and Ontario.
Like Panda One Ambulance, the new helicopter is fully equipped with state-of-the-art pediatric and neonatal life support technologies, including a separate incubator that maintains a warm environment to help protect babies who are extremely vulnerable and at increased risk of complications. The helicopter is equipped with a team of specially trained registered nurses and respiratory therapists to respond to any type of medical or traumatic emergency.
"Our mission is to continuously work to improve the health and well-being of michigan children," Donovan said. Through Panda One's transportation team, we can strengthen our services so that we can better serve patients and their families. ”
