You don't necessarily know about Taiwan

The inhabitants of Taiwan are mainly composed of four ethnic groups: aborigines, Hokkien, Hakka and provincials. The Minnan people are the largest ethnic group in Taiwan

Taiwan has been an inalienable part of China since ancient times.

In 1661, Zheng successfully recaptured Taiwan from dutch invaders.

In 1885, Taiwan broke away from Fu Jianjian Province, and the first inspector of Taiwan, Liu Mingchuan.

It was occupied by Japan from 1895 to 1945.

In 1949, the Kuomintang lost the civil war, and Chiang Kai-shek led some Kuomintang military and political personnel to retreat to Taiwan.

In 1979, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress issued a "Message to Taiwan Compatriots," announcing the principle of peaceful reunification of the motherland; at the same time, the mainland stopped shelling Kinmen and realized a cross-strait ceasefire. In the same year, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore were included in the OECD's list of newly industrialized societies and became known as the "Four Asian Tigers".

In 1992, the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Strait (ARATS) and Taiwan's Strait Exchange Foundation (SEF) reached an important consensus that both sides of the taiwan strait uphold the one-China principle.

In the 2000 Taiwan regional leadership election, the Chinese Kuomintang, which had been in power for more than 50 years, was defeated and the Democratic Progressive Party came to power.

In 2008, Ma Ying-jeou was elected as the leader of the Taiwan region, and the Chinese Kuomintang came back to power; in the same year, the two sides of the Taiwan Strait achieved direct postal, shipping, and trade ("three links").

The whole province of Taiwan includes Taipei, New Taipei, Taoyuan, Taichung, Tainan and Kaohsiung, 6 are "municipalities directly under the central government", 3 provinces and municipalities of Keelung, Hsinchu and Chiayi, and 13 counties of Hsinchu, Miaoli, Changhua, Nantou, Yunlin, Chiayi, Pingtung, Taitung, Hualien, Yilan, Penghu, Kinmen and Lianjiang (Matsu).

Both sides of the strait belong to one China, and both sides of the strait belong to the same Chinese nation. It is hoped that Taiwan will return to the embrace of the motherland at an early date and the people on both sides of the strait will join hands to realize the great rejuvenation of the nation at an early date!
