Recently, in the reservoir area of Puxiqiao Power Station in Mojiang Hani Autonomous County, Pu'er City, Yunnan Province, 15,000 rare and endemic fish of local indigenous people were released into the Amo River to further replenish the wild resources of fish and promote the recovery and growth of natural fish populations.

The species of fish released this time are the indigenous rare soft-finned new light-lipped fish, formerly known as the soft-fin four-whiskered catfish, and the local common name is flower fish and leopard fish. The soft-finned crescent-lipped fish mainly inhabit mountain streams, and the juvenile fish feed in tributaries, and belong to the indigenous fish of the Lixian River basin of the Yuanjiang river system. This stocking activity is the second consecutive release since the release of the first batch of rare and endemic fish in 2017, accumulatively releasing more than 40,000 rare softfin fresh lip fish from indigenous people.

"This release is a measure for the National Energy Group Pu'er Power Generation Co., Ltd. to implement the concept of green development and promote the work of the river (lake) length system, play an important role in the joint protection of water ecology, and promote the restoration of water ecology in the Amo River Basin." It is reported that in the next step, the National Energy Group Pu'er Power Generation Co., Ltd. will continue to practice the concept of green development, increase cooperation with the Kunming Institute of Zoology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, strengthen scientific and technological research and the use of achievements, actively cultivate indigenous fish suitable for the growth of the region, continuously expand the achievements of the protection of rare fish resources in the Amo River, make greater contributions to the environmental protection of the Amo River, and boost the river (lake) length system in Mojiang County to a new level.
