This weekend, Mr. Meng's family, who lives in Hujialou in Chaoyang District, was very anxious: on an ordinary park walk, the pet parrot he had kept for 2 years accidentally flew away from the birdcage and has not been found.
"At about 5:30 p.m. on April 24, I was walking around the park with two parrots, and I wanted to open the birdcage to collect the feathers of the parrots, but one of them suddenly came out of the gap in the birdcage door and flew into the tree." Mr. Meng said that a peach-faced peony parrot raised at home was named Little Egg Yolk and accidentally lost it.
"The yolks have also flown to the trees before, but always fly back to my shoulders, and this time there happened to be two particularly large birds flying over, and the little yolks were frightened and flew away."
That night, Mr. Meng's family kept calling the name of the little egg yolk until 10 p.m., when it never flew back. The next day, Mr. Meng went to the print shop and printed 50 pet-seeking revelations, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and did not find them.
Mr. Meng's wife, Ms. Dai, said the yolk was covered with yellow feathers and a small patch of red on the top of its head, and although it was a two-year-old adult bird, it was only the size of a palm. The little egg yolk is usually very close at home, will jump on the keyboard to play when the master is working, can understand the master's commands, and can also speak simple words, which is rare in peony parrots.
"It will call its own name 'little egg yolk', the name of another parrot 'Little Egg White', and my husband's name 'Old Meng', which is clear in the parrot, we did not deliberately teach it to speak, it may be that when we play with it, we say that these three words are more, and it slowly imitates and learns." When it comes to the matter of the little egg yolk, Ms. Dai is very distressed.
"I speculate that parrots should not fly far, and should not go out of the community north of Hujialou at the farthest, so I hope to mobilize the strength of the neighbors to help find it together." Ms. Meng said.
