Campus Bird Record – Grey-throated Mountain PepperBird

Pericrocotus solaris : The female is yellow in the forehead , anterior part of the head , cheeks , ear feathers and the entire underparts , and the waist and tail coverts are yellow. The wings and tails are roughly similar in color to those of males, but the red on them is replaced by yellow.

It mainly feeds on insects, and the food eaten is mainly beetles, locusts, aeruginosa tortoise shells, bugs, cicadas and other insects, and occasionally eats a small number of plant seeds. It is found in China, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia.
