The prevention and control of dragon claw locust lice should be early, otherwise it will be difficult to prevent and control outbreaks

Because of its beautiful posture, it is widely cultivated as an excellent garden tree species, but the wood lice are the most common pests of the dragon claw locust, and the harm is very serious. So how to prevent it? Let's learn the occurrence rules of the dragon's claw locust lice together with Xiaobian.

[1] Pattern recognition

Adults: There are two types, winter type (i.e. overwintering adults) body brown to black brown, summer type body greening. The head is vertical and the top of the head is flat. The antennae have 10 segments, the first and second sections are pale green and thicker, the third segment is thinner and yellowish-green, and the seventh to tenth segments are all brown, with two bristles of varying lengths at the ends. The forewings are yellow and the hindwing veins are colorless.

Eggs: Ovate, orange nearly hatched, with an egg cap at the end. Nymphs: 7 years old. The antennae of the 1st instar nymph are pale green, 2 segments, wingless buds, and the antennae of the 2nd to 6th instars are 3, 5, 6, 7th and 9th, respectively. The terminal nymphs have 10 antennae, and the wing buds extend to the third segment of the abdomen. The back of the abdomen is green with black markings.

[2] Hazard characteristics

Adults and nymphs suck the host top buds, young shoots and new shoots, affecting the growth and development of trees, and a large number of waxy substances secreted by nymphs cover the canopy, affecting the ornamental value and beautification effect of trees.

[3] Occurrence law

In northern Shaanxi, it overwinters in bark cracks as adults. Activities begin in late March and peak spawning in mid-April, where the eggs are laid on the back of leaves and buds, arranged in a single-layered lumpy arrangement. Incubation begins in late April. The second generation of eggs hatches in mid-June. The hatching nymphs lie still, begin to move and secrete wax at 2 to 3 years old, eat only on the leaves before the 3rd instar, and partially turn to the branches after 4 years. In severe cases, the branches and leaves are covered with wax.

[4] Prevention and control measures

(1) Spray Ki Lin Guangzheng or tree insects during the peak period of the nymph to control it once, and the spray should be even, so that the spray can be sprayed thoroughly.

(2) Protect and use natural enemies such as heterochromatic ladybirds and grasshoppers to carry out natural control.
