Yunfu has an excellent ecological environment and rich medicinal plant resources, and is the first batch of national and the first national advanced unit of grass-roots traditional Chinese medicine work in Guangdong, and a modern characteristic southern medicine experimental area in Guangdong Province.
The main bank of the medicinal resource germplasm bank of the Chinese Materia Medica Resource Center of the Chinese Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences is located in the Yunfu Campus of Guangdong Pharmaceutical University, with a construction area of 30,000 square meters; the germplasm resource garden is located in the contiguous mountainous area inside and outside the university, with a scale of 5,000 mu.
