The border town of Xigaze in Tibet, China, is located in the middle of the long Sino-Indian border.
Overall, the total length of the Sino-Indian border is about 2,000 kilometers, mainly including the western, central and eastern sections.

In 1962, a border war broke out between the two countries over a border dispute. For decades, although the Chinese and Indian governments have been looking for ways and means to resolve border disputes fairly and reasonably, they have not been able to make a breakthrough so far.
The border between China and India is about 600 kilometers in the west, about 450 kilometers in the middle and 650 kilometers in the east.
Historically, the adjacent and customary border between China and India was the southern foothills of the Himalayas, which is largely uncontroversial. But since the British occupation of India, the Anglo-Indian governments have tried to separate Tibet from Chinese territory, leaving a hidden danger for the subsequent Sino-Indian dispute.
In 1914, the British government representative Henry McMahon and the local representative of Tibet formulated the "line" in New Delhi, India, in a secret exchange of letters, the famous "McMahon Line".
Among them, in the middle of the Sino-Indian border, India actually controls the Juwa Quja area, the area west of the Shibuchi Pass, the Sang, Onsa and Borin Sanduo areas, and the Uje, Ranchong and Labudi (i.e. Xiangza and Labudi) areas, totaling about 2,000 square kilometers of territory.

Dingri County in Shigatse City has the world's highest peak, Mount Everest. There is Yangzhuoyong Lake, one of the three sacred lakes in Tibet. Samdrup Dzong Fort and Gyantse Castle were former political and religious centers. There are a number of famous temples such as Tashilhunpo Monastery, Baiju Temple, Sakya Temple and so on. There are Yadong Port, Zhangmu Port, Nichiya Port and Keelung Port.
Xigaze has six famous ditches in the southern foothills of the Himalayas, also known as the Small Jiangnan of Tibet or the South of Tibet Jiangnan, namely: Yadonggou, Chentanggou, Karmagou, Rongzhigou, Zhangmugou and Jilonggou.
With a history of more than 600 years, Shigatse is the second largest city in Tibet, the former political and religious center of Later Tibet, and the place where the Panchen Lamas were stationed in xi for generations. With its beautiful natural scenery and unique Tibetan life, Shigatse is known as "the most desirable and beautiful manor".

Yadong County is located on the southwest border of the motherland, located in the southern foothills of the middle of the Himalayas, bordering Bhutan in winter and India in the west.
The port of shigatse
1. The Yadong Port is the main channel for Sino-Indian trade. Located in the territory of Yadong County, Shigatse City, it is located in the southern slope valley of the middle of the Himalayas, with an altitude of more than 2800 meters, bordering India and Bhutan, and 41 external passages (there are also dozens of passages at the Puran port). Beginning in the middle of the 17th century, Yadong gradually became the main channel for Sino-Indian trade. The main contemporary passage is the Nathu La Pass.
2. Zhangmu Port is located in Zhangmu Town, Nielamu County, Shigatse City, China-Nepal Border at the southern foot of the Himalayas, and is the only national first-class land trade port in Tibet. As a reminder, when going to Zhangmu, both foreign and domestic tourists need to apply for a border management area pass or passport to go.
3. The Jilong Port is a passageway for sino-Nepalese border trade, located in the territory of Reso Village, Jilong Town, Jilong County, Shigatse City, and is adjacent to the Zhangmu Port across the mountain. In 1987, the State Council approved Jilong as a national first-class land port, expanded its opening in 2014, and in April 2017, the State Council approved the expansion of the Opening of the Tibet Jilong Port as an international port.
4. Riya Port is a border land port, located in Dingjie County, Shigatse City, Tibet, 7.6 kilometers away from Dingjie County, and 303 kilometers away from Shigatse City, where the region is located. It borders Nepal and corresponds to Nepal's Hatya Market, which was officially opened in 1986 with the approval of the State Council. Historically, the Nichiya Port was the traditional border people's mutual trade market between China and Nepal.
