My name is Luo Yiyao [yáo], nicknamed Taotao, 10 years old, a third-grade primary school student, who likes to catch small insects and raise small insects, especially beetles. I started this hobby last summer, and at the most I had more than 20 bugs, such as double-forked rhinoceros golden turtle, Mongolian rhinoceros golden turtle, Taiwan chicken crown shovel, Chinese flat spade and so on.

Usually I like to go to the wild to see them, and then catch them back, recognize them against books, see what their names are, and after a long time, I know a lot of insects.
Speaking of this hobby, I read a comic called "The Adventures of the Insect World", which has two beetle fight scenes in the book, which I think is very interesting and began to be interested.
I started raising beetles since last summer. I would go with my parents to the Lingyin Temple or some bridge to catch beetles. Because they're nocturnal animals, and they're phototropic, there's a birch grove on the side of the bridge, and the lights on the bridge, and they're going to fly over there.
When it comes to autumn they will slowly die, and I will make them into specimens. I now have about 10 specimens in my house, and the location of one of the corridors in the room is my home for the little insects.

My mom and dad were very supportive of my hobbies, often taking me to the bookstore to check the books of the beetles, usually helping me wash the insect nests, changing the fruit for the beetles, and keeping them from flying away. Because insects are so powerful, they can open the bag and escape.
Taotao's father and aunt told Xiaoxi that in fact, they actually paid a lot of time and energy for Taotao's hobbies. Every weekend, they either accompany Taotao to the bookstore to check the books of the beetles, or accompany Taotao out to catch the beetles. When Taotao is not there, it is also responsible for cleaning the beetle nest, preparing food for the beetle, and paying attention to whether the beetle has escaped.
Taotao Dad said that as a parent, it is important to support your child's hobbies. At that time, the original intention of supporting children to raise insects was to guide him through taotao's success in raising insects, as long as he maintained enough enthusiasm, spent energy, and insisted on doing what he loved, then he could succeed, not only raising insects, reading, painting, and playing guitar.
Through the matter of raising insects, we found that his observation and attention were improved, and the insects he painted were always able to pay attention to particularly subtle places. I think every child is different, find the child's interests and hobbies, and then summarize the experience, so as to guide and educate the child to do things and be a person, nourish the child to become a more comprehensive person, which is what we as parents should do.

In the summer of 2018, I want to continue to raise the insects that were not cultivated last year, and I want to raise 2 or 30 more. In fact, playing guitar and drawing are also my hobbies, but raising beetles is one of my favorite hobbies! I'll stick with it!
