By Word:
Just like the Chinese people have not been able to compete with the World Heavyweight Awards such as Nobel, Oscar, hercules gold cup and so on, our dogs do not seem to be very competitive, and they have not yet touched the side of any award in world-class competitions, even if the seeds left by the ancestors can also win the championship of the world's top dog races, but those dogs are all raised by foreigners, which shows that the gap between us and the world level is a big deal! Why this is so, most Chinese people will know it, do not need to break it.
Raising pet dogs is one of the important symbols of modern civilization, and the dog show, especially the world-class four major dog shows, is a heavyweight event integrating culture and art, leisure and entertainment, science and technology, etc., and is a country's economic development, political enlightenment, technological progress, people's prosperity, national management level and even military strength and other comprehensive national strength level, which reflects not only the quality of dogs but the status of people. If the government and dog lovers can start from now, start from themselves, and use the scientific concept of development to understand, lead and adhere to long-term unremitting efforts, it may be that in the near future, our dogs will also appear on the stage of the World Dog Show, and perhaps we can also hold a world-class dog show in the land of China. Here, I would like to briefly introduce the world-famous "Four Dog Breeding Associations and Four Great Dog Exhibitions" to inspire a new generation of pet friends not to relax, at least to give the ancestors a breath of contention.
1. The world's four authoritative dog breeding associations
1.1 The world's most authoritative kennel club
— The American Kennel Club (AKC).
Founded in 1884, the American Kennel Club is made up of more than 500 separate kennel clubs across the United States. AKC is a sprawling non-profit organization whose original function was to register and protect purebred dogs. With further development, its function is extended to every aspect of dog breeding, especially in the dog show, its service scope is very wide, the organization itself is very authoritative, and the dog show is comprehensively supervised. It has a permanent staff and elects board members and its chairman from more than 300 club representatives across the country. In addition, about 3,800 affiliated clubs participate in AKC's activities, using the AKC's statutes for dog exhibitions, training courses and health clinics. Now AKC has become the most important world-class platform for dog breeding, registration, research, and display. So far, AKC has identified 179 dog breeds, including 6 newly recognized dog breeds in 2011 and 8 previously recognized dog breeds of Chinese origin, including Beijing Dog, Pug Dog, Xishi Dog, Sharpie Dog, Songshi Dog, Tibetan Lhasa Dog, Tibetan Hound and Tibetan Terrier. The 8 dog breeds recognized by AKC originating in China have long disappeared because the domestic purebred has long disappeared, so the application for registration and the participation of dogs are controlled by foreigners.
1.2 The world's first kennel club was established
— The Kennel Club (KC), also known as the British Kennel Club.
Founded in 1876 (strictly speaking, it should have been formed on 4 April 1873 at albert house at 2 Victoria Street, London), it was the world's first dog management organization and one of the most influential kennel clubs in the world to date. Its original function was to register thoroughbred dogs, host dog show events, and establish strict competition rules. KC has established a method for awarding winning dogs, using the certificate of winning as a certificate of award. KC is not only the oldest kennel association in the world, but also one of the three most influential organizations in the world for dog population classification, with 209 dog breeds recognized so far, and it is famous for hosting the SRUFTS Dog Show every year.
1.3 The worldwide dog industry management agency accommodates the largest number of recognized dog breeds
— The World Kennel Association is also known as the World Federation Cynologique Internationale (FCI).
Founded in 1911, the association was originally jointly founded by Belgium, France, Germany, Austria and the Netherlands, and is headquartered in Belgium, which is a dog breeding association on an equal footing with AKC and KC. Although the FCI is a unified international organization, it has strong compatibility, is a coordination-based dog industry management organization, does not specifically deal with the registration of dogs, its main function is to achieve through the member countries. The association has branches in Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia and Oceania, and now has 87 member states, including JKC in Japan, SCC in France and KCC in Taiwan. China's "China Guangcai Program Promotion Association Kennel Association" was accepted as a member by FCI in 2008, referred to as CKU. These member institutions retain their own identity, but are under the unified management of the FCI and use a common points system. There are more than 340 dog breeds identified and divided into 10 groups, including many breeds and local breeds that belong to the place of origin, each of which is divided into different categories according to the origin and use. The main functions of the FCI are: to supervise its member institutions to hold more than 5 times a year the whole dog breed dog show, to unify the standards of each dog breed's country of origin and widely publish it, to formulate the FCI International Dog Show rules, to organize, review and issue championship registration titles, to develop the association's member country pedigree records, and to identify dog breed standards. In 2011, on the occasion of FCI's 100th anniversary, FCI headquarters commissioned France to hold a large dog show in Paris.
FCI is committed to the development of excellent breeding of purebred dogs, and improve a set of standardized and reasonable purebred dog management and breeding concepts, the management and breeding of purebred dogs more systematic and superior. The pedigree certificate can be said to be the household registration book of the dog (including cats, the same below), which records the health status and training results of the dog and its ancestors for three generations. A dog's pedigree certificate is issued by a regular and legal kennel club to the breeder to confirm the true legal identity of a dog it breeds. Pedigree certificates vary around the world, but generally include the following: the dog's name, breed, gender, date of birth, fur color and other characteristics, breeders and breeding kennels, details of the dog's four generations of direct blood relatives, login number, tattoo number, DNA number, hip number and implanted chip records, race records and transfer records, SV (Demu) pedigree certificates also have a record of training degree. At present, there is no sound institution in this regard in China, and very few people have really established pedigree certificate files, but most dogs and cats imported from abroad should have pedigree certificates.
1.4 The world's largest single dog breed regulatory body
— The German Kennel Breeding Association or the German Kenndeske Society (VDH) and the German Shepherd Dog Association (SV) under VDH (Verein fur Deutsche Schaferhunde) and the Weltunion hervereine fui Deutshe Schaferhunde (WUSV).
The First General Assembly of the German Shepherd Dog Association, the world's largest single-breed breeding association, was held on September 20, 1899, and established the German Shepherd Standard proposed by the first President, Stefanitz: "Breeding of Sheepdogs is breeding of working dogs" is the purpose of SV, and its goal is to "control, supervise and promote the breeding and training of this breed and maintain its excellent genetic characteristics". The German Shepherd World Alliance was established on September 9, 1975 in Mannheim, Germany, and was attended by 38 guests from former West Germany, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, former East Germany, the United Kingdom, Finland, the Netherlands, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Newfoundland, Norway, Austria, East Africa, the Philippines, Switzerland, South Africa, Thailand, the Czech Republic, Uruguay and other countries. The German Shepherd World Alliance, with a total of 31 Member States, has decided that the SV President will chair the work of WUSV. At the second WUSV conference held in Yuexian, Germany, on September 8, 1976, the United States and Hungary joined the membership as new member states, and the number of member states increased to 33, with more than 80 guests. Since then, it has held a meeting once a year, and by 1984, ten sessions have been held, and the number of member states has increased to 42, including the WolfHound Association and Police Dog Association of Taiwan, Canada, Spain and Indonesia, the training associations of Pakistan, Poland and the United States. On September 10, 2001, at the 27th session held in Düsseldorf, Germany, the Chairman-in-Office, Mr. Peter Maxler, agreed to the application for membership of the China Shepherd Dog Club (CSV, established on July 7, 2001 at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing) and became the latest member of the worldwide single dog breed association, but due to the poor basic work in our country, the time for integration with SV was extended to December 31, 2010.

After being included in the four major kennel associations, it is
"Japan Kennel Club" (JKC),
"Societe Centrale Canine (SCC) (founded in 1881 as an agency of the French Ministry of Agriculture)",
Canadian Kennel Club (CKC),
Australian National Kennel Council (ANKC),
United Kennel Club (UKC), etc.
Japan Kennel Club (JKC)
Among them, the fastest growing is JKC, and it is added in Asia, so it focuses on JKC, and other dog associations are omitted.
Japan is the fastest growing country in the world with the economic take-off after World War II. There are three national dog breeding organizations in Japan – the Japan Kennel Club, the Japan German Shepherd Dog Registration Association JSV (Japanischer Verein Fur Deutsche Schaferhunde), and the Nippon Police Dog Association (Nippon Police Dog Association). Because JSV is a single dog breed association, NPDA only registers 7 types of military and police service dogs, so only JKC is the largest all-dog breed club in Japan.
After the end of the war, with the advancement of democratic reform in Japan, in 1948, the "All Japan Guard Dog Smart" (this is the predecessor of JKC) was established, and Kijuro Shidehara was appointed honorary president and Tanzan Ishibashi was appointed as the president, and after the efforts of the first chairman, Tamotsus Sakamoto and his colleagues, the first dog show was held in Ueno Ikenohata Park on November 23, 1949. 240 dogs from all over the country participated in the exhibition, and at the same time, a purebred dog breeding institution was established, and JKC was also recognized by the state as a public service organization. The organization offers many activities for dog lovers nationwide, including dog shows and the publication of newsletters. By the mid-1950s, the Lifestyle of the Japanese had improved markedly, the number of dog owners had increased rapidly, some purebred dogs had been imported from Europe and the United States, and the number of association members and registrants had increased significantly. By 1963, the number of purebred dogs registered exceeded 30,000, and the proportion of domestic dogs had dropped to less than 30%, which led to the formation of the Japan Kennel Industry Alliance and became a member of the FCI Alliance, taking the first step towards internationalization. At the same time, JKC also hired referees from the United States and the United Kingdom to participate in their dog shows, and worked hard to improve the level of domestic dog training and dog breed determination skills, and the number of registered dogs exceeded 100,000 in 1968. By 1971, JKC moved its management office to the Kanda ward of Chiyoda Ward in Tokyo (JKC's current address), set up JKC's headquarters, and provided a streamlined record-keeping procedure for the increasing number of registrations, as well as holding seminars for the members of the association, and in 1971 the number of registered dogs had reached 168,000, and the proportion of dogs playing with dogs had reached more than half, reaching 53%. In the following years, the Asian Kennel Association (AKU) was established in major Asian countries, with Japan as a member of the presidency. JKC's goal is to promote the development of the Asian dog industry and the quality of dog breeds. Members of the JKC have been invited by many Asian countries to serve as referees for dog shows. In 1976, the name of the association was changed to the Japan Kennel Club, and under the leadership of three presidents, Toyosaku Kariyabu, JKC carried out many activities. In 1978, after the FCI invited JKC referees to participate in the World Dog Show in Mexico City, it received unanimous praise from many countries. Since then, JKC has begun to exchange referees in the United States, The United Kingdom, Australia and other countries, which has greatly strengthened international exchanges and cooperation.
1982 was a memorable year for JKC. In March of that year, JKC's 9-story building was completed, and the automated office system was also very advanced; in April, the FCI World Dog Show held in Tokyo was the first time that the show was held in Asia, JKC's efforts were highly praised, the level of awareness of the Japanese dog industry also left a deep impression on the world, and the number of registered dogs in the year exceeded 200,000, and the proportion of play dogs continued to increase to 68%. In 1984, JKC sent a number of members and related persons to the FCI European Training Championship and the AKC Centennial Dog Show to assist in the work. In 1987, Japan realized that all pedigree and other proofs were issued by computer systems. Over the next year, JKC celebrated the association's 40th anniversary in a number of ways, including the publication of 40 Years of JKC's History. In 1991, JKC launched a program to train rescue dogs. In addition, JKC also sends qualified personnel to participate in overseas competitions, including IPO training tournaments, agility competitions and youth operations competitions. Through the promotion of these activities, in 1992, JKC and AKC (American Kennel Club) and CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) established a mechanism for joint promotion, further consolidated and strengthened international cooperation, in 1992 the number of registered dogs reached 318,000, the number of registered breeds increased from 103 to 118, and mutual recognition of dog status certificates was achieved with AKC in the United States and CKC in Canada. The fourth President, Hirofumi Keitoku, appointed in 1994, insisted on these policies, allowing the association to continue its steady development and successfully held a commemorative meeting for the 50th anniversary of the founding of JKC in Tokyo in 1999. In 2000, Mitsuteru Hoshi, the fifth president of JKC, further strengthened the organizational structure of JKC and expanded the scope of its activities. At present, JKC has 1100 affiliated clubs distributed in 14 regions, 160,000 registered members, 118 registered dog breeds, and the number of registered dogs in 2011 has exceeded 470,000, so JKC is not only an international kennel club representing Asia, but also has developed into the world's second largest dog organization after the American AKC.
2. The world's four major dog shows
2.1 The world's highest-grade dog show
—Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.

The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show has a history of more than 130 years, westminster temple originated in the Westminster Temple Hotel located in the Manhattan block of New York, in the 1650s in the United States high-class gentlemen popular hunting, people began to discuss whose hounds are better, thus forming the prototype of the dog show. The club they established at the Westminster Hotel was called the Westminster Breeding Society.
From May 8 to May 10, 1877, the first Westminster Kennel Show was held in Gilmore Gardens, 26 Madison Avenue, New York City, USA, and the dog show was quite successful and caused a sensation in the industry. The Westminster Club began as a group of old gentlemen who were keen to instruct hounds and Setters, who often met at the Westminster Inn in New York to exchange dog breeding experiences. The original intention of the club was only to love a certain dog breed and improve a certain dog breed, so it is stipulated that a dog show will be held once a year for exchange and display. From 1877 to 1920, the Westminster Kennel Show was set at 4 days, the schedule from 1921 to 1940 was changed to 3 days, and the schedule from 1941 to the present was shortened to 2 days. The Westminster Kennel Show is not only a famous dog event, but also the oldest sporting competition in American history. Americans have a fondness for dog shows, almost to the point of fanaticism, so they never stop racing because of bad weather, economic crisis, war and other emergencies. Beginning in 1907, the Westminster Kennel Show began to set up a championship. Since 1992, racing dogs required to participate in the Westminster Kennel Show must first qualify for the Championship Landing. To this day, the Westminster Club remains the largest full-breed kennel club under AKC (AKC's first membership club in 1884) and is organized at the annual Westminster Kennel Show.
The Westminster Kennel Show is more than 140 years old and is one of the oldest sports competitions in American history. The Westminster Kennel Show is held once a year. Since 1992, the club has stipulated that only dogs that have won the championship landing are eligible to compete in Westminster Abbey. The ultimate goal of the best dogs in the United States is to win the westminster championship, which is also the ultimate goal of many top dogs abroad.
From the first dog show in 1877 until 1920, Westminster held a 4-day dog show. However, from 1921 to 1940, it was changed to a 3-day format, and from 1941 to the present, it was changed to a 2-day format. Westminster is one of the oldest sports competitions in American history, and Americans love dog shows to the point of fanaticism. It has never stopped because of bad weather, economic crisis or war.
It is worth mentioning that every year the Westminster Temple event will make the concert and NBA event choose to bypass, do you know that Madison Garden Square is a solo party venue representing the highest level of the show business, The King Michael Jackson and Beyoncé have held personal concerts here, and the NBA club New York Knicks home (that is, Jeremy Lin's former battlefield) is in Madison Garden Square, Westminster Abbey these two days, the team can only arrange rest or go to the away game!
Every year, the winner of the "Westminster Kennel Race", BIS (the overall champion of the whole field), enjoys the opportunity to have dinner with the President of the United States.
Although the current course of each dog show is only 2 days, a lot of preliminary work is required. In addition to the review, registration and registration of the participating dogs, each participating dog breed must first select 1 best breed (B.O.B) to represent this breed in the dog group competition. The competition for the best dog breed is fierce, and being the winner of this breed shows that it is of the highest quality in the world. Secondly, the dogs that win the B.O.B must compete for the Best Class Award (B.I.G) and finally decide the highest honor - the overall champion (B.I.S). The champion dog needs to pass 3 referees: the referee who decides B.O.B, the referee who decides B.I.G, and the referee who decides B.I.S. As a result, the Westminster Kennel Show requires at least 40 professional judges to run smoothly, which is difficult to guarantee in other kennel races alone.
At the 134th Westminster Kennel Show from 15 to 16 February 2010, a Scottish Terrier was crowned. At the 135th Edition of the Westminster Kennel Show, which opened on Valentine's Day in 2011, a total of 2,597 dogs were shortlisted for the competition, representing all 179 different breeds of dogs that met Westminster standards. The dogs came from 49 U.S. states, Washington, D.C., and Canada. For the first time, New York surpassed California's 234 dogs with 255 shortlisted dogs to become the most shortlisted state. A number of dogs from Germany, Brazil, Japan, Mexico, Australia, Belgium, France, Italy, Sweden, Slovenia and Thailand have registered for the competition as localS.
Winning the Westminster Kennel Show championship has now become the highest goal for dog owners in the United States and the world. Looking at the 105 races from the establishment of the Westminster Kennel Show in 1907 to the 135th edition (2011), the following statistics can be drawn:

2. The world's largest dog show
—The Crufts Dog Show
Dog shows in England began in the Victorian era in the mid-19th century. The first dog show was held from 28 to 29 June 1859 at Newcastle City Hall on the River Tyne, when 60 Boeing and Sheddars participated in the demonstration. In November of the same year, a dog show was held in Birmingham, England. The Creufz Dog Show is named after its founder, Charles Cruft. Cruz was the general manager of a dog biscuit manufacturing company, and in 1886 he held the "First Best Terrier Competition", when 600 dogs from 57 dog breeds participated in the competition, but the first "Cruz Best Dog Show" named after Cruz was held in 1891 at the Royal Agricultural Assembly Hall in Islington, the world's first multi-breed competition, with nearly 2500 dogs participating. With the end of the 19th century, the Creufz Dog Race received royal patronage from many european countries and Russia, and the number of participating dogs quickly exceeded 3,000, and the 1936 race has expanded to 80 dog breeds and 10,650 participating dogs. Charles died in 1938, his wife heir Fuzhi held four more dog races in a row, because she could not bear the pressure of time and energy to invest heavily, and considering that the future of the dog show and her husband's reputation were preserved, she granted the right to hold the event to the British Kennel Club in 1942.
Affected by the Second World War, the Cruvz Dog Show was forced to be interrupted. In 1948, after the end of World War II, the Creufz Dog Show, organized by the new owner, made its first appearance in Olympia in London, and its scene was extremely popular. Since then, the popularity of the dog race has grown day by day, and obedience competitions were added for the first time in 1955. In 1959, a new world record of 13,211 dogs was set despite the increase in the participation fee. By 1979, the number of dogs and spectators participating in the competition had grown too rapidly, exceeding the capacity that Olympia could afford, so the dog race was moved to the Earl's Court Exhibition Centre. Since then, the schedule has been extended due to excessive growth, which was increased to 3 days in 1982 and 4 days in 1987. In 1991, the centenary of the Crufts Dog Show, the Cruvuz Dog Show was first moved to the British National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham outside London, with 22,973 dogs participating in the competition and adding a form display project, with more than 160,000 spectators and was included in the Guinness Book of World Records. Since 1991, the Creufz Dog Show has been held in Halls 1 to 5 of the Birmingham National Exhibition Centre, in March of each year for a period of 4 days, with an average of 28,000 excellent dogs of purebred descent from all over the world participating each year to compete for the title of "Best Famous Dog", the most prestigious award in the World Dog Race. At present, in addition to competing dog breeds, dog groups and full-court champions, the dog show also has competitions such as agility competition, obedience competition, flying ball catching competition, musical freestyle competition and junior leader world championship.
The rules of the game developed by the British Kennel Association are strictly regulated in every detail, including the refereeing system. The whole competition is open and fair, and has been adopted by many foreign kennel associations. In recent years, the number of dogs registered with the British Kennel Association has been increasing, averaging around 260,000 per year, and the total number registered in 1981 was more than 5.3 million. The British Kennel Association has now expanded from its original 12 members to a large organization, which is not only responsible for the performance, review, breeding, research and activities of purebred dogs, but also pays attention to dog legislation and the rescue of crucified dogs and disabled dogs, published the Dog Code in 1988, and established the Dog Breeder Tutorial and the Good Citizen Dog Ownership Program in 1992.
2.3 The world's third, Asia's first, the fastest growing all-dog breed exhibition
-Japan Asia International Dog Show
Held every April in Tokyo, Japan, the Asian International Dog Show is known as one of the world's three most famous dog breed exhibitions, and is the largest international dog show in Asia, hosted by the Japanese kennel industry management agency. It has been held for 22 years now, and the name of the award is very interesting. There are the Prime Minister's Award, the Rural Fisheries Minister's Award, the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries Production Director Award, and the Bloodline Award.

- German Breeding Dog Demonstration Contest and Ability Assessment Contest (BSZS&BSP)
The German Shepherd Breeding Dog Competition and the Working Ability Competition, namely the "Federal Winner-Breeder Showcase Competition" and the "Federal Winner-Ability Test Competition", are the national shepherd competitions in Germany, and all participating dogs are registered with the German Shepherd Dog Association and comply with the uniform regulations of the German Shepherd Dog Association for participating dogs. Both dog races have their own emphases, but these two directions actually complement each other and are indispensable. People who raise German shepherds want their dogs to become famous through the annual breeding dog demonstration contest and ability assessment competition.
