When Wen Ziren announced the launch of a slightly terrifying "Sea King" spin-off "Trench Clan", people were surprised. The work was said to focus on non-human races in the deep sea, but was eventually canceled by Warner. Now the Trench Movie has been confirmed as a "Black Manta Ray" solo film starring Abdul Martin II, and the reason for the cancellation is unknown.

Wen Ziren recently posted a new photo of "Black Manta Ray" on the set of the sequel to "Aquaman" on Instagram. A fan asked in a comment whether he would have the opportunity to shoot a separate work for "Black Manta Ray", and Wen Ziren replied: "Tell you a secret, the cancelled 'Trench Clan' is actually a 'Black Manta Ray' movie."
While we won't get a chance to see spin-offs of Black Manta Ray, the classic villain will return in the Aquaman sequel, along with several other new villains, including Stingray, Karshon, and Atlan.
