#Travel # Located in the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, the lofty mountains of Guizhou, 100 million years ago was a vast ocean? Yes, Guizhou rose from the sea during the earth orogeny hundreds of millions of years ago!
Although in the Paleolithic period, Guizhou had signs of human activity. But recently, Guizhou unearthed fossils of paleontology of the family Ichthyosauridae living in the Triassic marine environment, which is the oldest fossil new evidence of the wartfish family to date.

Because of its hunchback, sharpness and carnivorous food, it is named "Panzhou Storm Fish". At present, Guizhou has unearthed many marine paleontological fossils such as trilobites, ichthyosaurs, sea dragons, nautilus, and other rare fossils; therefore, Guizhou is also known as the "paleontological kingdom".
So how do we ordinary tourists witness the true appearance of "Panzhou Storm Fish"? At present, the fossil is in the research room, and researchers are sleeping and eating to tinker with it, so we can't see it for the time being, but when the research is over, it may be displayed in these two museums in Guizhou.
The first may be in the Guizhou Paleontological Fossil Museum, which is located in Zhujiang Road, Huaxi District, Guiyang City, mainly exhibiting paleontological fossils and Guizhou strange stones, with a large number and high taste; it has become a science education base in Guizhou Province.
The second may be at the Guizhou Provincial Museum (a new museum opened in 2015 after the relocation), which is located in Lincheng East Road, Guanshanhu District, Guiyang City, and mainly exhibits paleontological fossils, Paleolithic relics, ethnic cultural relics, etc., with a total collection of more than 80,000 pieces.
Personally, I think that the "Panzhou Storm Fish" is more likely to be exhibited in the Guizhou Provincial Museum in the future, and it may also be transferred to a higher-level department of the country, or other exhibition halls, so we must pay attention to the follow-up official trends.
However, it can be seen that Guizhou is indeed a paleontological kingdom, which is a must-visit place for paleontological enthusiasts in this life; the land of Guizhou has gone through vicissitudes and mulberry fields, and the biodiversity that has lived here is rich, let us see, what are the rare animals?
About 20 phylums, more than 200 families, more than 2,000 genera, more than 4,000 species and subspecies of paleontological fossils have been found in Guizhou, covering almost the main phyla of paleontological classification.
It is mainly distributed in more than 10 fossil groups, including the Guanling biota in the Triassic bay environment, the Xingyi Guizhou dragon fauna in the dragon's hometown, the Wong'an biota that preserves the oldest animal fossils, and the Kaili biota of Cambrian marine life.
The Guanling biota was unearthed from Guanling County, Anshun City, and the main fossil phyla include: ichthyosaurs, sea dragons, dragons, dragons and other marine reptile fossils, as well as fossils of sea lilies, ammonites, bivalves, tooth-shaped stones, nautilus, brachiopods, fish and ancient plant fossils that are preserved offsites on land.
The Ong'an biota is native to the Ong'an region and consists mainly of three-dimensional preservation of multicellular algae, large stinging prologies and epizoan embryos.
The Guizhou dragon fauna was excavated from Dingxiao Town, Xingyi City, and the marine reptiles mainly include: Xingyi Oulong of the True Fin Dragon, Hu Guizhou Dragon, Undetermined Species of Dragon, Sea Dragon, and Ichthyosaur. The main fish are: Oriental ribbed fish, Xingyi Asian scaly tooth fish, Guizhou Chinese true etail, Liu's biye fish and other more than ten genera species.
The Kerry biota was unearthed from the city of Kerry and consists of trilobites, arthropods, jellyfish and echinoderms, soft-bodied fossils and other marine organisms.
In addition to the large number of paleontological fossils, guizhou's current ecological environment is also one of the best in China, with 10 million years of "living fossils" plant Nayong County; FanjingShan, which has the "world's only child" Qianjin Snub-nosed Monkey; Chishui, which has 180 million years of plant Quercus quercus; and Weining Caohai, which has a black-necked crane.
Of the creatures that have emerged on Earth, 98.5% have been wiped out, and we are glad that human beings occupy a dominant position in nature while also protecting the earth's environment and other life in the symbiotic earth home. The mood of biological research on the relics of human activities after 100 million years is similar to that of our current trip to Guizhou!
