On October 14, the "Meet in Beijing" 2021 Asian Figure Skating Open began at the Capital Gymnasium. In the pair skating short program competition, Chinese figure skater Sui Wenjing / Han Cong brilliantly performed "Mission Impossible 2", ranking first with 79.27 points.
As part of the "Meet in Beijing" series of winter sports events, this event is also a test event for the figure skating project of the Beijing Winter Olympics. Compared with the domestic test event held in April, the specifications and level of participants in this test match are higher. In this competition, there are four events: men's single skating, women's single skating, pair skating, and ice dance, of which only Chinese players participate in the double skating and ice dance.
Sui Wenjing/Han Cong appeared in third place, bringing a newly choreographed short program with the theme song composed by German composer Hans Zimmer for the film Mission Impossible 2. In the end, with 79.27 points, the pair skating short program ranked first, Peng Cheng/Jin Yang ranked second with 66.41 points, and Wang Yuchen/Huang Yihang, Zhang Siyang/Yang Yongchao ranked third and fourth.
Sui Wenjing/Han Cong said in an interview with the media that the Capital Stadium is the best venue in the world, and every time they come, they are particularly excited and look forward to next year's Beijing Olympic Games.
