The road to Yushan was not easy to walk, the rain soaked the road, in some places the mud flooded to the knees, the Kuomintang army was mules and cannons, rolling like mud people, "Fortunately, after arriving in Yushan Town, they let me go." ”

Walking back, another team came to him, and he quickly hid in the woods, and the other party called away: "Little devil, don't be afraid, we are the People's Liberation Army!" "He doesn't understand. The other side said that the People's Liberation Army was the Eighth Route Army, but he still did not understand. A tall and strong officer with a pistol said: "The Eighth Route Army was the Red Army in the early years, understand? Now he understood. The officer asked, "Seeing that you are rolling in mud, why are you going?" He said he had just taken a team to Yushan Town. The officer asked again, "Is there anyone else in the house?" In this way, he joined the army on the road, without enlistment registration, without medical examination, and even without firing a gun. The day was November 15, 1949, "I've remembered it all my life, and that's what Instructor Meng told me." ”

Instructor Meng was that officer, named Meng Zhiqing, a native of northeast China. After three days of fighting on Baima Mountain, he rushed upwards with Commander Xu, forty or fifty meters away from the front-line troops, and one or two hundred meters away, and the sound of the cannons and the secret of the guns frightened him and trembled, but he was a little embarrassed to see that Commander Xu calmly commanded the logistics unit to clean up the battlefield. The so-called cleaning of the battlefield is to pack up guns and backpacks, escort prisoners, lead mules and horses, and so on. There were too many mules and horses, all of them were transporting guns and cannons for the Kuomintang troops, and as soon as the guns rang out, hundreds of horses ran around the mountains, where to finish! After fighting with the troops to Chongqing, the 423rd Regiment took a steamship to Fuling at chaotianmen wharf to rest. The 47th Army he joined was a strong brigade, formerly known as the Red Fifth Army formed when Peng Dehuai led the Pingjiang Uprising; Xiao Ke and Wang Zhen both served as commanders; during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, it was reorganized into the 359th Brigade of the 120th Division of the Eighth Route Army of the National Revolutionary Army, which was famous for reclaiming Nanniwan; after the victory of the War of Resistance, it advanced into the northeast and was incorporated into the 10th Column under the command of Lin Biao; and later, according to the unified order of the Central Military Commission, it was reorganized into the 47th Army of the People's Liberation Army, with jurisdiction over three divisions of the 139th, 140th, and 141st, and was a team with outstanding combat achievements.

At Maoba in western Hunan Province, his 9th company surrounded a band of bandits. When attacking, he was eager to fight and rushed to the front. Three or eight big covers are single shots, he finished a row of bullets, because he thought the gun was too long, he got up to change the magazine, and as a result, he was shot, "Hit me on the waist pole, the blood soaked the cotton coat." In that battle, the 9th Company eliminated more than 200 bandits, and Deputy Company Commander Zhao carried him off the battlefield.

Many years later, he learned that the 47th Army had made great contributions to the suppression of bandits in western Hunan Province, and later the famous TV series "Records of Bandits in Western Xiangxi" and "Records of Bandits in Wulong Mountain" were based on the deeds of the 47th Army's bandits, and the whole army annihilated nearly 100,000 bandits and eliminated the bandits that had existed in the local area for hundreds of years.

When he returned from the Sangzhi County Regiment Health Team to recover from his wounds, he found that there were forty or fifty less comrades in the company, and his heart could not help but tighten, thinking that they had sacrificed. In February 1951, he also followed the troops to North Korea, "from Changsha by three-day and three-night train to Dandong, and after a week of training, waded across the Yalu River in a place called Jiudaogou and reached Inchon via Sinuiju and Pyongyang." After the 47th Army entered the DPRK, it successively fought with the US ace cavalry 1st Division, the 3rd Army Division, and the Commonwealth Division in Jincheng, Linjin, Kaesong, west coast and other places, annihilating more than 22,000 enemy soldiers, and emerging Hao Zhixin, Jing Chengen, Ma Yijun, Li Tailin, Chen Qiyao and other combat heroes. But the 3 companies and 11 squads led by Teng Mingguo were not so smooth. They blasted six barbed wire meshes in a row, and when they blew up the seventh, they ran out of explosives packs and blasters, and the barbed wire was laid in a cylindrical shape, and the grenades couldn't blow up at all! At this time, the charge horn sounded, and in order to ensure the passage of the large troops, Teng Mingguo jumped on the barbed wire and shouted: "Rush from me!" Subsequently, the other 4 members of the Demolition Team also pounced on the barbed wire. The large troops rushed to the top of the mountain with their bodies, and all the 11 classes of the Tengming Kingdom were heroically sacrificed!
