Shangguan Yunzhu was born on March 2, 1920 in Jiangyin, Jiangsu Province, his real name was Wei Junji. After the Qiqi Lugou Bridge Incident, she fled to Shanghai with her family. Due to her natural beauty, she has had a dream of being a movie star since she was a child.
In 1940, Shangguan Yunzhu was admitted to huaguang drama college and made his debut in the one-act play "Rice" directed by Hong Shen.
Also in this year, Shangguan Yunzhu was selected by the director to star in the movie "Wang Tiger Robs Relatives", and the director felt that her real name was too strange, so he changed her stage name to "Shangguan Yunzhu". In the 1963 film Early Spring february, Shangguan Yunzhu played the widow Wen Sister-in-law.
