The mayor of Seoul, South Korea, Wu Se-hoon, went to the prosecutorial department for questioning on the 2nd for suspected dissemination of false information and violations of the election law during the election. After 14 hours of overnight interrogation, Wu Shixun was able to return home in the early morning of the 3rd.

Oh Se-hoon is a member of the opposition National Power Party and first served as mayor of Seoul from 2006 to 2011. After the death of former Seoul mayor Park Won-soon in July, Oh Se-hoon won the mayoral by-election in April.

The "Liar Gate" incident is related to a project during Oh Se-hoon's last tenure as mayor of Seoul.

The project was approved by the Seoul metropolitan government in 2009, but was eventually halted due to a series of scandals such as bribery and corruption that followed.
