The University of Adelaide, Australia, ranked nearly 100 in the world, has produced 5 Nobel Laureates and 100 Rhodes Scholars, one of the three oldest universities, the first university to accept female students, the first university to establish a conservatory of music, and one of the oldest universities in Australia to open a conservatory of music. The music-related majors and majors offered by the undergraduate program are as follows:

Introduction to Musicology at the University of Adelaide

1. Bachelor of Music Three-year Course Structure: (Relatively Extensive) The program provides students with the following majors: Music Performance - Classical Music Performance - Jazz, Classical Vocal Music, Composition, Musicology, Popular Music and Innovative Technology, Sound Wave Art and Music Education and Pedagogy. Consists mainly of at least 24 credits and is composed of a series of music skills courses and music and expanded electives.

2. Bachelor of Music (classical voice) Bachelor of Music (Classical Vocal Music) Three-year Course Structure: Classical Vocal Music accepts one-on-one vocal students and teaches classical singers in three main languages – Italian, German and French. There are also singers with sight singing and specialized hearing training (sight singing ear training), English pronunciation, basic grammatical structures, screenwriting skills and dramatic skills, choral directions and the use of the International Phonetic Alphabet.   The Ancient Public Conservatory of Music has an excellent choral tradition and two choirs – the Old Public Conservatory Choir (SATB) and the Bella Lowlands (female vocals only) provide students with a wide range of overall skills and experiences in classical vocal music.  There is also a new collaboration with The National Opera of South Australia, which annually involves all classical vocal students in opera and musical stage plays. This new collaboration is designed to present the work perfectly. In recent years, these works include: Orfeo (Monteverdi) Sister Angelica (Puccini), Figaro's Wedding, The Magic Flute, Women (Mozart), Adventures in the Enchanted Forest (Humperdink), Dido & Aeneas (Purcell) and Into the Forest (Sandheim).

Bachelor of Music (music composition) Bachelor of Music (Music Composition) Three-year Course Structure: The Ancient Conservatory of Music Music Composition aims to cultivate students' advanced skills in the field of classical traditional composition style.    A comprehensive study of the arts, theoretical and practical aspects of musical composition, the modalities include individual lectures, lectures and individual instruction. Students will study traditional musical compositions within the framework of including forms, modes, negative tones, arrangement, musical scores and fillers, and study aesthetics, contemporary media, and musical techniques. Bachelor of Arts with Bachelor of Music (music performance-classical) Bachelor of Arts + Bachelor of Music (Classical Music Performance) Five-year course structure: Combined Bachelor of Arts + Bachelor of Music, including Bachelor of Music, selected level of demand, II, III and advanced arts programs. It enables students to pursue a wider range of interests in music and self-design, a combination of disciplines. The special significance of foreign language learning lies in learning about singers and music, while history and anthropology may produce more understanding of ethnomusicologists and interest students. Various media studies also involve composition and the art of sonic speed.  The major consists of 120 credits of study courses, usually spanning more than 5 years. The first year of study focuses on music courses, specializing in classical performance, jazz performance, composition, music education, musicology, performance and pedagogy, popular music and artistic innovation techniques or sonic arts. The remaining four years are combined with Bachelor of Arts content.

7. Bachelor of Music (Musicology) Bachelor of Music (Musicology) Three-year Course Structure: This specialization studies the cultural, social, historical and stylistic context of music. Students will be improved in music theory and analysis, music history and repertoire, and music creation. The curriculum enhances research skills and applies to traditional and contemporary Western and non-Western musical examples from a musical and ethnomusicological perspective. Students can also pursue a wide range of interdisciplinary studies. It is also possible to participate in ensemble activities.

Bachelor of Music (Popular Music and Creative Technologies) Bachelor of Music (Popular Music and Creative Technologies) Music and Media Industry Integration Three-year Course Structure: New Popular Music and Creative Technology Major, focused on composition and other creative work, including pop and rock music styles. It includes digital and analog technical performances (including ensembles). Popular music and innovative technologies respond to the requirements of the contemporary music industry, allowing students to learn the knowledge and skills required by music professionals. Hands-on learning about contemporary pop music, writing, and music techniques combines music theory studies and style studies.

9. Bachelor of Music (Sonic Arts) Bachelor of Music (Sonic Arts) Three-year Course Structure: This specialization focuses on the technical framework of music creation. Students will undertake academic and hands-on learning, supported by composition, studio recording and digital media, along with a range of music and technical research.
