This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Over the past one hundred years, the Communist Party of China has carried forward the great spirit of party building, built up the spiritual genealogy of Chinese communists in the course of long-term struggle, and tempered a distinct political character. Recently, the Party Central Committee approved the first batch of great spirits sorted out by the Central Propaganda Department that were incorporated into the spiritual genealogy of Chinese Communists, and released them on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
If people do not have spirit, they will not stand, and if the country does not have spirit, it will not be strong. The great spirit of the party is the most precious spiritual wealth and the most abundant spiritual strength of the Chinese nation. Looking back at history, through the fire and smoke of the revolution, the enthusiasm and persistence of construction, and the agitation and breakthrough of reform, our party has formed a series of great spirits in the course of a hundred years of struggle and built up the spiritual genealogy of Chinese communists. The great spirit of the first batch of Chinese communists, which was included in the spiritual genealogy of Chinese communists, has concentrated on the great spirit of creativity, great struggle, great unity, and great dream spirit that the Chinese nation and the Chinese people have formed over a long period of time; it has embodied the party's firm conviction, fundamental purpose, and fine work style; it embodies the great character of Chinese communists in arduous struggle, sacrifice, dedication, and pioneering spirit; it is deeply integrated into the blood of our party, state, nation, and people, thus providing rich nourishment for us to build the party, rejuvenate the party, and strengthen the party. Carrying forward the great spirit and continuing the spiritual genealogy of the Chinese communists will surely gather a powerful spiritual force for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
To carry forward the great spirit, we must adhere to the truth, adhere to the ideal, and maintain the determination of "not moving in the wind and rain like a mountain." Truth guides the course, and ideals illuminate the journey. Adhering to the truth and adhering to ideals is an important connotation of the great spirit of party building. From the day of its birth, our Party has written Marxism on its banner and established communism as a lofty ideal. In the course of a hundred years of magnificent struggle, whether weak or strong, whether in good times or in bad times, our party has never wavered in its firm belief in Marxism. It is precisely because of holding the truth in hand and having ideals in mind that our party has been able to develop from having only more than 50 party members when it was founded to a ruling party with more than 95 million party members and leading a country with a population of more than 1.4 billion, and constantly moving from victory to new victory in overcoming difficulties. The party's history of struggle over the past hundred years has fully proved that if a political party has lofty ideals and lofty pursuits, it will be able to maintain the determination of "not moving in the wind and rain and being as peaceful as a mountain," it will be strong and powerful, indestructible, and invincible, and it will be able to withstand setbacks and rise up again and again.
To carry forward the great spirit, we must practice the original intention, undertake the mission, and strengthen the will to "hold on to the green mountains and not relax." The original intention and mission of the Chinese Communists is to seek happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation. Over the past one hundred years, no matter how the situation and tasks have changed, no matter what kind of stormy waves it has encountered, our party has always moved forward firmly in the right direction; no matter how great the challenges and pressures it has faced, no matter how much sacrifice and price we have paid, we have never wavered in allowing the people to live a good life. From Shikumen to Tiananmen, from Xingye Road to Fuxing Road, the century-old history of our party is a history of practicing the party's original mission, and a history of the party and the people connecting hearts, breathing together, and sharing a common destiny. The party's original intention and mission have forged ahead with the determination of our party. On the new journey, by forging ahead with the will to "hold fast to the green mountains and not relaxing," taking the people's yearning for a better life as the goal of struggle, and always wanting to be with the masses of the people and working together, our party will have the greatest confidence in ruling the country and will be able to continuously push forward the cause of bringing benefits to the people.
To carry forward the great spirit, we must not be afraid of sacrifice and heroic struggle, and arouse the spirit of "the more difficult and dangerous the more we move forward." To struggle there will be sacrifices, and to make progress, you must pay. Our party was born at a time when the country was in internal and external troubles and the nation was in crisis, and from the moment it was born, it plunged itself into the great torrent of struggle for the interests of the country and the people, and along the way it sought survival, development, and victory in the struggle. No party in the world has encountered so many hardships and obstacles, experienced so many life and death tests, and paid so many tragic sacrifices like us. Today, we are closer, more confident and capable of achieving the goal of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation than at any time in history, and we must be prepared to make more arduous and arduous efforts. On the way forward, we must fight bravely and face difficulties with the spirit of "the more difficult and dangerous the more forward", and forge ahead with the wind and bone and quality of not being afraid of strong enemies, not afraid of risks, daring to struggle, and daring to win victories, so as to win advantages, win the initiative and win the future in coping with various risks and challenges.
