Sprinkle Gold Bridge is a very flavorful old street, its unique historical atmosphere, it is worth your repeated taste.
From Xi'an Huimin Street all the way to the west, to Damai City cross and turn right is the Golden Bridge. As shown in the picture, starting from the West Mosque in the south, passing through the Ancient Mosque in the middle, and then walking to the Yunju Temple near Lianhu Road in the north, this old street is full of stories that are four or five meters wide and more than 800 meters long.
When I first heard the street name of Shanjin Bridge, I felt joyful. How rich a street can be sprinkled with gold! Why is there such a joyous and rich street name? After thinking about it for a while, I basically understood the origin of the name of the street.
Shi Zai, the name of The Street of Shangjinqiao originated in the Tang Dynasty and is related to Emperor Xuanzong. During the Tang Dynasty, today's Shangjin Bridge is located at the Jinshui Bridge in front of the Taiji Palace in Chang'an City, and the northern end is connected to the imperial city wall. During the Kaiyuan period, the Tang Dynasty was strong and powerful. One day, Emperor Xuanzong came to be interested, and summoned the Wenwu Hundred Officials under the Jinshui Bridge, and Xuanzong spilled countless newly minted gold coins on the upper floor of the Imperial City to the Jinshui Bridge, so the Wenwu Hundred Officials crowded into a group to compete for the gold coins. Since then, the boundary of Jinshui Bridge has been known as the Golden Bridge by the people.
This statement is historically recorded, and the following statements are folklore.
Legend 1: The Royal Family's Road to Gold. During the Tang Dynasty, the name of the Bridge was Daqiao Street. In order to meet the luxurious needs of the royal family's life, the royal family had to transfer the goods transported by water from outside the city to the Taiji Palace, so the bridge street in front of the palace became the "only way to pay tribute". Treasures are often scattered on the street, so the bridge street has become a sprinkling bridge.
Legend two: Someone picked up a golden lump here. One day in the Song Dynasty, the three brothers of the Li family who were begging for a living on the street were pushing a wheelbarrow across the bridge in the dark when they were blocked by a large stone, so the three brothers worked together to remove the stone. Who knows, the next morning, the three brothers of the Li family went out to take a look, and a big golden lump was placed in front of the door. Since then, the three brothers have become rich, and the street in front of their homes has also been called "Sprinkling Gold Bridge". Qin Cavity's "Picking Up Gold" interprets this legend.
Legend Three: Sprinkling Gold Bridge is the harmonic sound of "Shajia Bridge". At the end of the Qing Dynasty, there were many people surnamed Sha here, and people called this street Shajia Bridge. For a long time, it was harmonized as sprinkling gold bridge. In addition, there are also lü Dongbin, one of the eight immortals, sprinkling gold on the Jinshui Bridge and meeting with Han Xiangzi with the iron abductor Li.
What do you think? Such a small street, its history and legend is so magical, have to make people sigh! This is not the end, we continue to continue the historical context of the Golden Bridge. In the Southern Song Dynasty and Yuan Dynasty, it was called Iron Furnace Street, the Ming Dynasty changed to Iron Furnace Mill, the late Qing Dynasty was named Shajia Bridge, renamed the middle section of Qianwei Road during the Cultural Revolution, and then changed back to its original name of Shangjin Bridge. As for the reasons for the later name change, especially the iron furnace, I will not discuss it here.
Although today's Sajin Bridge does not have the hustle and bustle of Muslim Street, the whole street is full of strong Islamic flavor, the ancient Halal West Temple and the Halal Ancient Temple, the Hui women wearing veils and robes coming on the oncoming, the Qur'an script engraved on the bluestone plaque at the door of the old house that no one knows so far, and the century-old halal snacks. This is the place where Xi'an locals can enjoy Guanzhong cuisine.
At the north end of the Shangjin Bridge is the famous Yunju Temple, which is really the only remaining temple in Tang Chang'an City. It is said that Yunju Temple is a temple built by Tang Taizong Li Shimin in the form of a replica of the South Wutai temple, remembering that his mother often went to Zhongnan Mountain South Wutai to worship the Buddha. Next time we'll take a look.
