The trailer begins in 1930 in the puppet state of Manchukuo, where the Emperor's imperial chef, Nataro Yamagata (Toshihide Nishijima), announces to the world a unique recipe called "The Great Japanese Empire Cuisine Full Table". Seventy years later, talented chef Mitsuru Sasaki (Kazuya Ninomiya) travels to Beijing to try to find this legendary recipe. Sasaki Mitsuru has the "Tongue of the Kirin" that will never be forgotten if you taste any dish once.
The trailer flashes back to the '30s, when a Japanese officer commissioned Naotaro Yamagata to make a "dish that shocked the world" while "completing an important mission," but he didn't realize it was all a conspiracy. The trailer does not reveal what the conspiracy is, only showing chaotic scenes of Japanese troops arresting civilians in the streets.
Yamagata then discovered the conspiracy and burned his own recipe, angering the officers. His lover was persecuted and Yamagata was shot. But he left the last recipe in this world, and the recipe hid the last message he left for his lover...
Adapted from The novel of the same name by Jingichi Tanaka, the film is directed by Yojiro Takita, director of "Entering the Mortician", with the participation of Aoi Miyazaki, Tsuyoshi Ayano, and Toyo Takeno, and will be released on November 3.
