Zero discharge, wading construction does not pollute the river water

"Zero excavation", tunneling focuses on ecological protection

At the entrance of the Liyue Tunnel, the Chuanguan News reporter saw that the opening of the Liyue Tunnel has a circular curved bracket that protrudes out, and the construction is excavated from this bracket, and the area around the cave entrance is lush trees, a greenery.
"We have 'zero excavation' for all tunnels." Peng Zhizhong, director of safety and environmental protection of Lushi Company, said. The traditional tunnel opening excavation, just like cutting tofu, first carries out a large-scale slope cutting and reinforcement of the mountain, and then excavates and constructs on a relatively flat section; while "zero excavation" is to extend the tunnel first and spray concrete slope protection, which not only maximizes the protection of the trees and vegetation around the cave entrance, but also avoids safety risks such as slope collapse increased by large-scale excavation.
Pointing to the opening of the Liyue Tunnel behind him, Peng Zhizhong introduced that the construction bracket of the extended tunnel is about 10 meters high, while the traditional tunnel, the height of the opening is at least about 20 meters. "Some construction sites are piloting infrared probe monitoring, and once man-made pollution is found, it can be warned in time." Sun Lai said.
The 96.5-kilometer Lushi Expressway connects Yakang and Yaxi two major traffic arteries in western Sichuan, which is close to the Gongga Mountain Scenic Area, and connects tourist scenic spots such as Hailuogou, TianwanHe and Anshunchang along the route, facing the tests of complex engineering geological conditions, high proportion of bridges and tunnels, difficult construction, and fragile ecological environment.
