Since 2000, defendant Li claims to be the "heir" and "royal descendant" of the royal assets, falsely claims that the royal assets are stored overseas, uses forged official documents, certificates, seals, photos, etc. of state organs to gain the trust of the victims, and uses the huge returns as bait to deceive the victims into investing funds to find relevant materials and procedures to unfreeze the royal assets. With the development of the royal asset thawing scam, Li trained Wang Mouwen, Wang Mou, Huang Mouxian, Zhang Mourong and others as backbone agents. Defendant Wu X knew that Li's identity and royal asset project were false, actively provided assistance for Li to carry out the royal asset thawing crime, defrauded Li's income and expenditure funds, and helped Li save forged state organ documents and similar antiques and other material pictures, so as to display the trust of the victims at any time. The 10 defendants divided their labor and cooperated with each other to operate and implement the royal asset thawing scam to form a closed loop, defrauding the victims of a large amount of money totaling more than 10.8607 million yuan. On March 25, 2021, the People's Court of Mile City, Yunnan Province, sentenced defendants Li X and Huang X to fixed-term imprisonment ranging from one to 15 years for fraud, and fined them respectively.
