In early to mid-March, the Poultry Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences signed an industry-university-research cooperation agreement with the Rudong Wolf Mountain Chicken Breeding Farm, and the "National Nutrition Quality Evaluation and Appraisal Institution for Famous and Excellent New Agricultural Products (Poultry Products) and the Industry-University-Research Cooperation Base" were inaugurated in Rudong County on the same day.

"Rudong Wolf Mountain Chicken" originated in Rudong County, is China's famous egg meat and meat type local high-quality chicken breeds, in 2000 was included in the national livestock and poultry breed resources protection list, in 2015, "Rudong Wolf Mountain Chicken" passed the Chinese geographical indication agricultural product certification. Due to the distinctive regional characteristics, great development potential and high market recognition of "Rudong Wolf Mountain Chicken", it was selected as a geographical indication agricultural product protection project in Jiangsu Province in 2020.

According to the cooperation agreement, in the next step, the Poultry Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Rudong Wolf Mountain Chicken Breeding Farm will cooperate on how to play a supporting role in science and technology, improve the quality level of landmark products, promote the transformation of scientific research achievements, and carry out cooperation and exchanges in terms of quality identification of agricultural products under national geographical indications, declaration of national famous and excellent new agricultural products, quality evaluation and appraisal, quality and safety control technology, etc., to truly realize the cooperation between institutes and enterprises, and win-win results between industry and education. Gao Yushi, deputy director of the Poultry Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, said that the East Wolf Mountain Chicken Breeding Farm is a modern, intensive and large-scale breeding farm engaged in wolf mountain chicken breed protection, strain breeding, commercial chicken development and deep processing. This cooperation is the complementarity and superposition of the advantages of both sides, and jointly build a first-class Wolf Mountain Chicken Production, Education and Research Base in China. The two sides officially reached an agreement on industry-university-research cooperation and officially listed, which will not only help promote and land scientific research achievements, but also further promote the benign development of enterprises, play a greater and better leading role in building the brand of East Wolf Mountain Chicken, and play a greater and better leading role in rural revitalization and "three rural" development across the country.
