Among them, the European elm beetle is a quarantine pest and has been intercepted for the first time at the Weihai port. In order to prevent the introduction of the epidemic, the bureau has carried out strict quarantine supervision and treatment of the batch of logs, and strengthened the entry quarantine of logs entering the country from the epidemic area.
It is reported that the European elm beetle mainly harms the elm tree, but also harms poplar, plum tree, oak tree, oriental beech and other tree species, and can spread the devastating disease of elm tree - elm blight, resulting in a large number of tree deaths.
