Passenger car autonomous driving, vehicle networking, etc. have attracted much attention, and relatively traditional special-purpose car companies are also undergoing a digital revolution.

Recently, CIMC Vehicles signed a global agreement with Siemens Digital Industrial Software. The two sides have been cooperating since 2014, and the signing of this agreement means that the scope of cooperation has been expanded from China to the world, and the product coverage of the full range of product categories of CIMC Vehicles has been realized, and the depth and breadth have been expanded.

CIMC Vehicles is the world's leading semi-trailer truck, with 23 production plants and 10 assembly plants worldwide. CIMC Vehicles has just landed on the GEM in July this year, realizing the listing of A+H shares in both places. The company's predecessor, Shenzhen Tianda, was established in 1996 and renamed CIMC Vehicles in 2005, of which CIMC is the majority shareholder and currently owns 55.21% of the company (as of September 21).

Siemens is also in a leading position in the field of industrial software, laying out a variety of software products such as production control, R & D and design, which are used in various industrial industries, of which the penetration in the automotive industry is very deep.

According to CIMC Vehicle's 2021 semi-annual report, the company's construction in digital transformation mainly includes the construction of a digital work management platform, a digital supply chain center, digital simulation technology, etc., and the requirements for digitalization are vertically deepened from the production and manufacturing end to the business end, sales end, research and development end, and procurement end. At present, the company has built 13 semi-trailer production "lighthouse" factories, 6 special car installation production "lighthouse" factories, and 2 refrigerated van carriage body production "lighthouse" factories at home and abroad.

"There are technical requirements in the four dimensions of product development, manufacturing process planning, production and manufacturing, and product operation." Speaking of the significance of digital transformation, Li Guiping, CEO and president of CIMC Vehicles, said that for example, the company's design needs for milk tankers sold in Australia are different from those in China. In the past, after receiving orders from Australian customers, companies usually used email and other means to communicate, and then improved the design according to the needs. After the digital transformation, the company first formulated a series of product planning, manufacturing and operation processes for milk tankers, and then handed them over to overseas customers for adaptive modification.

"Digitalization has turned the whole process upside down, and now we can tell overseas customers that the results of this process are optimal. Suddenly, our philosophy changed. Li Guiping said.

Dr. Li Xiaofu, CTO of CIMC Vehicles, pointed out that CIMC Vehicles has entered a new era of comprehensive digital transformation. As the data source of enterprise digital construction, product data will support the landing of CIMC Vehicle's business philosophy of "cross-ocean operation and local manufacturing".
