Born in London, A.A. Milne (1882–1956) studied mathematics at university, fought in World War I, and was an associate editor of Clumsy, Britain's oldest humor magazine. He wrote many novels, plays, and poems, but he is known worldwide for his children's literature. Winnie the Pooh's World is a collection of four of Milne's children's literature classics: Winnie the Pooh, The House of Puff Horn, When We Were Little, and Now We're Six. These four works have been around for nearly a century, but they have endured for a long time, thanks to the classic illustrations of the famous illustrator E.H. Shepard (1879-1976). The beautiful combination of text and picture has made Winnie the Pooh and his friends a household name.
