According to Hong Kong media reports, Cantonese opera celebrity Chan Ho-chi died of cancer at 12 noon on July 23 at the age of 89. Since 1991, Chen Haoyi has reduced her performances due to recuperation, and in mid-2010, Sister Yi suddenly fell seriously ill and had to be admitted to the hospital for major surgery, which once made the outside world worry about her health, but in March 2011, Sister Yi was able to perform Cantonese opera "Jinyu Guan Shiyin" at the Shin Kong Theater, and then she still participated in Cantonese opera performances, but it was said that she had suffered from pancreatic cancer and brain cancer. In 2006, she was awarded the Honorary Fellowship of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and in 2008 the Medal of Honor by the Hong Kong SAR Government.

Since she was inspired by her father Chen Qihong and loved Cantonese opera, she studied at the Primary School attached to Key Chi Secondary School and Zhenhuan Middle School in her early years, and studied art at the Guosheng Musical Theatre Art Club and the Deng Xiaolanfang Cantonese Opera Academy in her spare time. He studied Peking Opera with Wang Yukui and Pink Chrysanthemum, and in recent years, he has invited famous Jingkun artists Liu Xun and Xing Jinsha to be artistic directors for their Cantonese opera performances. During the fall of Hong Kong, he participated in the Singing of the Full Moon New School Theatre Troupe run by his father; after performing Cantonese opera in Guangzhou with his sister Zeng Yunxian, he participated in the Hua Tak Ye Yu Amusement Club, which gradually emerged, and was performed by Luo Zhi in Singapore and Vietnam in about 1949. After about 1950, he returned to Hong Kong to join the giant ban Da Hao Cai Troupe (He Feifan, the female leader of the red line) as the third Hua Dan. Since then, he has gradually been promoted to the second gang and Zhengyin Huadan, and has participated in many Cantonese opera troupes over the years, and has had many famous partners, including: Chen Kamtang, Mak Bingrong, Phoenix Girl, Liang Baozhu, Chen Baozhu, Shi Yanzi, Lin Jiasheng, Ruan Zhaohui, Li Long and Wu Qianfeng.

Luo Jiaying, who had studied drama with Sister Yi with the famous pink chrysanthemum, said that it was a pity, he pointed out that Sister Yi was his sister, praised her as the best flower Dan in Hong Kong, everyone had a lot of cooperation before, but since she had a physical problem, it has been a long time without performance, the last time he saw Sister Yi was a year ago, Brother Ying said that Sister Yi was 89 years old, and his health was not good, as far as he knew, he died because of cancer, although he felt pity, but there was no way.
