Children display paper-cut works.

Reporter Yu Suyan photography report a few days ago, the second stop of the third season of Kunming City's 2021 "Follow the Master to Learn Intangible Cultural Heritage" walked into Bajiang Middle School in Shilin Yi Autonomous County, where Bi Yueying, the national inheritor of the Yi (Sani) embroidery project, Liang Junli, the yunnan provincial inheritor of the face sculpture project, and Gao Qing, the municipal inheritor of the paper-cutting project, respectively took students to learn and experience the intangible cultural heritage.

On a small piece of blue embroidery, Bi Yueying patiently taught everyone how to stitch and how to thread... "I teach students to embroider simple octagonal flowers, although there is no pattern to base, but as long as they master the basic cross stitch method, they can also embroider the general outline." Bi Yueying said. Among the almost identical girls, Xu Zhipeng of class seven (8) stands out as the only male representative. Under the guidance of Bi Yueying, he quickly found the trick, and in a few moments he embroidered the 4 corners of the octagonal flower, and Bi Yueying directly praised him for his skillfulness and high understanding.

In the face sculpture experience classroom, The seventh (8th) class student Sueda Kaiyi was attracted to Liang Junli's work at first sight. Face sculpture is a traditional Chinese folk art, and Liang Junli has been engaged in this art for more than 30 years. This time, when he came to Bajiang Middle School, Liang Junli taught the students to make a shape of the Eight Precepts of the Pig. While demonstrating, she inspired the students to use their brains, and everyone answered enthusiastically, and the atmosphere of this class was very warm.

"We fold the paper a few times now, like the teacher cut a few shapes..." In the paper-cutting classroom, Gao Qing cut while combining PPT and board books to demonstrate. Class seven (10) student Zhang Shuya completed the first paper-cut work, and when she slowly unfolded, a large flower shape appeared in front of her. "Although they are all cut flowers, each piece is unique. That's the beauty of paper-cutting. Gao Qing said.

After the learning experience, the students cling to each other and gather around the 3 inheritors to sign and take a group photo. These non-hereditary heirs have become idols in their minds.

The event was hosted by Kunming Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Kunming Municipal Cultural Center (Municipal Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center), Kunming Newspaper Media Group (Kunming Daily), Shilin Yi Autonomous County Culture and Tourism Bureau, Shilin Yi Autonomous County Education and Sports Bureau, and co-organized by Shilin Yi Autonomous County Cultural Center and Shilin Yi Autonomous County Bajiang Middle School. The relevant person in charge of Bajiang Middle School said that the "Learning From the Master" experience activity provided students with the opportunity to dialogue with the master and learn and communicate face-to-face, which made the students gain a lot. I hope to take this opportunity to make students love intangible cultural heritage more, and become a small messenger for the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage in the future.
