Changjing Old Street is located at the intersection of the northeast of Wuxi Xishan District and the southeast of Jiangyin City, about 50 kilometers away from the main city of Wuxi, and belongs to Jiangyin City. There is a small stone archway on the easternmost side of the old street, and the inscription on the top of the archway is the four characters of "Changjing Old Street" written by the famous calligrapher Xiu Bo, which is regarded as the landmark building of the old street.
Walking along the archway from east to west, at the foot of which is a stone slab road about a kilometer long, which is rumored to have been built in the Ming Dynasty and is the longest and most complete stone slab road preserved in Jiangyin City. The stone road connects the former residence of Shangguan Yunzhu, the former residence of Zhang Dalie, the textile memorial hall and other cultural attractions. Both sides of the stone road are mostly self-built houses in the contemporary Jiangnan countryside, and it can be seen that after the local government has the awareness of "old street" protection, it has made some antique transformation of the façade of modern houses, with lantern flags to render the atmosphere of old streets.
The most popular on the old street is the bakery shop, a few steps away, more baked cakes, mooncakes and horseshoe puff pastry, these should be local specialties, walking in the old street, the air will from time to time drift a burst of sweet aroma of scones, people can't help but look around.
Changjing Town is also the birthplace of the older generation of performing artists Shangguan Yunzhu (formerly known as Wei Junjie). Shangguan Yunzhu Former Residence (Memorial Hall) stands quietly next to the stone road of Laojie, the former residence is currently listed as a cultural relics protection unit in Jiangyin City, which is well protected, and the memorial hall introduces the life and contribution of Shangguan Yunzhu to tourists in the form of pictures and texts and physical objects, expressing high respect for this senior performing artist.
In 1940, Shangguan Yunzhu participated in his first film "Wang Tiger Robs Relatives", and since then began his acting life, Shangguan Yunzhu has devoted his whole body and mind to the acting career, starring in dozens of films such as "A River of Spring Water Flows East", "Crows and Sparrows", "Ten Thousand Family Lights", "South Island Storm", "Early Spring February", "Stage Sisters" and so on, creating a number of vivid and touching, irreplaceable screen images, involving film dubbing and drama performances. He was persecuted and committed suicide during the Cultural Revolution at the age of 48. In 1978, Shangguan Yunzhu resumed his honor. In 1994, Shangguan Yunzhu won the Baosteel Elegant Art Award, in 1995, she won the Best Actress Award at the Century Awards of Chinese Cinema, and in 2005, she won the 100 Outstanding Actors Award of Chinese Films.
Shangguan Yunzhu's life can be summed up in one sentence: "Act innocently and conscientiously", so does the ethics of virtue and art have the significance of needle depreciation and learning from a certain circle of chaos and filth at present?
