Yu Hai is not only in excellent physical condition, he is also very diligent, practicing three nine in winter and three volts in summer, and soon Yu Hai stands out among the brothers of the division.
Lin Jingshan saw that his disciples were so intelligent and did not hide them, so in his spare time when teaching mantis fist, he also taught the plum blossom gun, the Spring and Autumn Sword, and swordplay.
However, Yu Hai later recalled those days of practicing, and what impressed him most was the hard work of learning mantis fist.
At that time, in order to express the essence of "Mantis Fist" more evocatively, Yu Hai often ran to the back mountain to observe the dynamics of mantises.
Once Yu Hai even caught hundreds of praying mantises, and he and these mantises lived in the same room, accompanied by them every day, in order to study their every move, so as to improve and innovate the mantis fist.
After a long period of intensive research, Yu Hai finally innovated on the basis of the original "Mantis Fist", so that the Mantis Fist could be better integrated into daily life.
Lin Jingshan saw that his disciples worked so hard and really loved martial arts, so he began to take him to participate in various competitions.
In 1958, on the recommendation of Lin Jingshan, Yu Hai participated in the National Wushu Competition, and with his sharp mantis fist, he won consecutive championships in the city, province and national competitions, and finally became an official national martial arts athlete.
In the same year, Yu Hai began to represent the martial arts team of Shandong Province, participating in martial arts competitions across the country, and there were countless martial arts masters in the competition, but Yu Hai's newborn calf was not afraid of tigers, and successively won the championship of mantis boxing, swordsmanship, stickplay and other sports and all-around champions.
At the end of 1960, the prime minister visited Burma, and martial arts masters from all over the country formed a Chinese martial arts delegation to accompany him, including Yu Hai.
This year, he was only 18 years old.
In the following years, Yu Hai served as the coach and captain of the Chinese wushu delegation for many times, and led the team to visit more than 30 countries such as the United States and France, making great contributions to promoting Chinese martial arts and enhancing friendship between China and the world.
However, no one could have imagined that at the age of 37, Yu Hai ushered in another new identity in his life, which made him more widely known.

In 1979, the filming process of the film "Shaolin Temple" was blocked, and director Zhang Xinyan was temporarily pulled to the rescue scene, a decision that was about to change the fate of Yu Hai and Jet Li.
Most of the original actors of "Shaolin Temple" are from the Henan Peking Opera Troupe, and the producers feel that the final presentation is not good, and the Peking Opera actors do not fully express the essence of Shaolin martial arts.
So the producer quickly found director Zhang Xinyan to save the scene, hoping that he could live up to expectations.
After Zhang Xinyan took over, he directly overturned the previous shooting results, and he decided to use the elite of the mainland who really know martial arts to star in the film.

Most importantly, here he found an apprentice who could inherit the mantis fist mantle - Jet Li.
But what most viewers don't know is that the "Shaolin Temple" crew is not the first time Yu Hai and Jet Li have met.
In the early years, jet Li was a member of the kelp Chinese martial arts team when it visited other countries.
Jet Li was emerging in the Chinese martial arts world when he was a teenager, and Yu Hai was deeply impressed by this talented and studious junior.

In 1995, director Zhang Xinyan came out of the mountains and decided to continue the glory of the film "Shaolin Temple" and prepare to shoot a "Kung Fu Boy Breaks through the Love Pass", so Zhang Xinyan came to beijing sports school again to select martial arts actors.
Wu Jing's ability to be selected by Zhang Xinyan was a complete accident.
At that time, Zhang Xinyan and Yuan Heping came to the sports school to pick people, coach Wu Bin in order to retain talents, specially "hidden" Wu Jing and several other excellent seedlings, Zhang Dao picked a circle and did not pick the right one, and finally returned home.
