Notice on naming the 2021 National Demonstration Elderly-Friendly Community

According to the "Notice on Carrying out the Work of Creating National Demonstration Elderly-friendly Communities in 2021" (Guowei Aging Letter [2021] No. 25), since January 2021, the National Health Commission and the National Office on Aging have organized the creation of national demonstration elderly-friendly communities nationwide. On the basis of local recommendations, after step-by-step review and publicity, it is now decided to name 992 communities, including the fresh community of Chaoyangmen Street in Dongcheng District, Beijing as the national demonstration elderly-friendly community in 2021.
All localities should thoroughly publicize and popularize the typical experience of the national exemplary elderly-friendly communities that have been named, give full play to the role of exemplary leadership and typical guidance, drive and lead urban and rural communities, improve the living environment of the elderly, improve the comprehensive service level for the elderly, and actively promote the construction of an elderly-friendly society. At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen the inspection guidance of the named communities to ensure that the quality of work and the satisfaction of the elderly after creation continue to improve.
