Chaoyang City is also known as "Dragon City". Located in the west of Liaoning, it is a historical and cultural city with a history of more than 1700 years, the ancient capital of Sanyan. The name "Chaoyang" began in the forty-third year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1778), named after the Chaoyang Cave on the Phoenix Mountain in the territory.
2. Sheep Mountain and Spirit Mountain
Legend has it that Yang Erlang made a bet with the gods that he could pick up the ershan mountains and catch up with the sun. The gods did not believe it, so Yang Erlang picked up the root and flat burden, picked up two mountains from the place where the sun rose early, and flew away after the sun. Running from the East Sea to the south of Liuzhou, when it was almost noon, Yang Erlang felt a little hungry and thirsty, so he stopped, put down his burden to rest, and stumbled the soil in his shoes by the way.
After the soil was knocked, Yang Erlang looked up, and the sun ran away again! He did not dare to be idle, picked up two mountains and strode to catch up, and when he reached the boundary of Liuzhou close to Jinzhou, he suddenly felt a tremor in his shoulders, only to hear a click, and the flat burden was broken. Without the flat burden, the two mountains could no longer be lifted. So the two mountains that Yang Erlang picked were left behind.
One is Yangshan Mountain (now Yangshan, Chaoyang County) located in the south of Liuzhou, and the other is a lonely mountain close to Jinzhou but still in Chaoyang. That is today's Spirit Mountain.
3.Manshoji Temple
Wanxiang Temple is located on the south slope of the north mountain of Kangguanyingzi Village, Songcanzi Town, Lingyuan City, and is the largest lama temple in Lingyuan City.
According to legend, when Qianlong was crown prince, he went to Shengjing with his father and stayed in the Lingyuan Palace for a temporary rest, he disguised himself as a commoner and went hunting in the Song CaneZi Mountain, just when a golden leopard pounced on him, a girl surnamed Kang shot an arrow at the leopard's body, Qianlong escaped from danger, and the two developed a feeling of admiration.
After a few years, after Qianlong became emperor, he passed through this place, touched the scenery, recalled the past, and inquired about the fact that the infatuated woman had fallen into the family and became a nun, so he built a temple and gave the temple name.
4. Qinglong River
Legend has it that a long time ago, there were two dragons living in the territory of Dahebei Township in present-day Lingyuan City: one was a green dragon and the other was a yellow dragon. Whenever there is a drought, the local people go to beg them to rain, ask for the green dragon, it always responds to every request, and when it comes to the yellow dragon, it not only does not rain, but also often blows strong winds and hail. The people here feared the Yellow Dragon and built a hail temple to enshrine it. People respected the Green Dragon even more, and especially built the Xinglong Temple for it. Huang Long was very angry when he saw people colding themselves, and always wanted to find an opportunity to take revenge on Qing Long.
One day, the Yellow Dragon found the Green Dragon and wanted to compete with him, and before the Green Dragon could agree, the Yellow Dragon opened his blood basin and bit the Green Dragon. The Green Dragon was forced into a fierce battle with the Yellow Dragon. They fought very fiercely, hitting the sky with thunder and lightning, and pouring rain. From morning to noon, the Yellow Dragon gradually became overwhelmed, and it transformed into a puff of yellow smoke and disappeared. The Green Dragon did not chase after him and went home.
After the defeat of the Yellow Dragon, he hated the Green Dragon even more. One night, it placed a small flying insect at the door of every household near the Qinglong family. That night, everyone in the village had the same dream, and in the dream an old man said to them, "I am too platinum star." The Jade Emperor sent me to tell you that tomorrow morning you will all go to the 'South Heavenly Gap' at the foot of the South Mountain of the village, where there is a small emerald green snake with scales on its body that are priceless treasures, and whoever gets it will enjoy happiness for a lifetime. ”
The next day, people came to the place where the old man in the dream pointed out, and sure enough, there was a small green snake curled up and sleeping, and the scales of the body shone in the sun, like pieces of emerald. People ran over to pluck the scales of the little snake, and the little snake in pain rolled around. Suddenly, the little snake turned into a puff of green smoke and disappeared. It turned out that this little snake was the green dragon.
It has the habit of coming here every morning to sleep, and today it feels unbearable pain in its dreams, and when it opens its eyes, it finds that people are peeling its scales. The green dragon was gone, and the scales that had been taken off by the people instantly turned into large chunks of bluestone slabs and flew to the mountain in front of them. The wounded green dragon met the yellow dragon waiting for it on the road, and the yellow dragon pounced on it with its teeth and claws as soon as it saw the green dragon. Qinglong had no choice but to fight with Huang Long. Huang Long originally wanted to take advantage of the Qinglong's injury to kill it, but the Qinglong's might did not diminish. Gradually, the Yellow Dragon could not fight the Green Dragon, and finally the Green Dragon bit off its throat, fell to the ground and lost its breath, and its flesh became a loess mound under the mountain.
And the green dragon also felt tired and painful, and fell to the ground, and his flesh turned into a big river. In order to commemorate the Green Dragon, people called this river the Qinglong River, and built a temple "Huilong Temple" on the banks of its river.
5. Lingyuan hot water soup
It is said that in the autumn of the twentieth year of Kangxi, the Kangxi Emperor took the eight banners to the Mulan paddock to hunt collectively, and because of the abundant harvest, the interest in hunting increased unabated, and hunted until the deer ditch where Lingyuan and Pingquan in Hebei are now at the junction.
On this day, seeing that it was late, the Kangxi Emperor ordered to camp and rest on the spot, ordered to collect prey, set up a cauldron in the open air, cook wild game, drink and compete with the disciples of the Eight Banners, and revel in the night. When the east showed the white belly of the fish, the Kangxi Emperor Fang returned to the big tent to rest.
I was just about to fall asleep when I suddenly felt an itch on my body. Scratching with his hand a few times, the more he scratched, the more itchy, and the large lumps of soybeans immediately rose up. The eunuch immediately sent a royal doctor. The diagnosis said that the hunt was too hard, and he sweated and suffered from the wind. Therefore, the prescription is prescribed to rub the internal dose. As a result, the knots that were scratched began to be red, swollen and suppurative, and the pain was so painful that they did not dare to touch it, and the original thought of driving back to the Chengde Palace was also delayed, and the Kangxi Emperor scolded the imperial doctor for being useless.
Among the imperial doctors accompanying him, there was a clever one, who remembered that the folk formula might have an effect, so he went to the nearby village to inquire where there was a village doctor. The result was really asked, he did not dare to say that he was to the emperor to treat the disease, falsely claimed that the illness was the family, the symptoms and the village doctor said, the village doctor laughed, said that this is not a serious disease, is tired and sweating, suffered from the wind and evil, and added to the excessive accumulation of fire in the body into poison, just take a bath. The imperial doctor asked where to wash? The old man told him that there was a hot spring fifty miles east of here, which could cure all diseases, and as long as he used this water to soak in it, skin diseases like this would be cured one by one.
The imperial doctor hurriedly rode to the current hot water soup, first took a hot spring bath by himself, felt very comfortable, and then brought back two cans of hot water to slowly scrub the body of the Kangxi Emperor. I didn't think I had just scrubbed it again, and the itch immediately eased. Kangxi summoned the imperial physician and inquired about the origin of this divine formula. The imperial doctor then told the story.
Therefore, the Kangxi Emperor was carried to the hot water soup, and after a few days of bathing, not only was the itchy illness of the body all better, but the problem of sore bones was also better, and he could not help but praise, "This is the true god spring!" ”
Before leaving the hot soup, let people present the four treasures of the study room. The fourteen big characters of the handwriting: "Baodi Lingquan hot water soup can cure all diseases and overcome all directions." "Since then, there has been the name hot water soup, which has been passed down to this day.
6. Great Montenegro
The Great Black Mountain National Forest Park, located in the northwest of Beipiao City, Liaoning Province, is said to be the site of a dragon vein, which became the land of Longxing because it once hid the Emperor of Northern Yan.
Legend has it that when Feng Bao was serving as a general of the Zhongwei in the Yan Kingdom, he came to the river ditch in front of the Great Black Mountain on a tour and saw a golden dragon floating out of the water and swimming towards him, which everyone thought was an auspicious omen from heaven and foreshadowed that Feng Bao had the order of an emperor. Feng Bao, fearing that Murong Xi would know about it, resigned his official position and went into seclusion in the Great Black Mountains.
After Murong Xi learned of this, in order to eliminate the hidden dangers, he sent officers and soldiers to round up Feng Bao. Just after arriving at the mouth of the chimney ravine, suddenly a dark rainstorm poured down with hailstones and blocked the mouth of the ditch, smashing the officers and men into the wilderness and fleeing. Soon Murong Xi sent officers and soldiers to come, and just after arriving at the Great Black Mountain, he encountered a big tiger blocking the mountain pass, and the roar was so loud that the mountain shook violently, and the officers and soldiers believed that this was the divine tiger protecting Feng Bao, and never dared to come again.
The Feng Bao brothers settled down on this mountain. The cooking smoke they cooked every day rose up along the large stone crack of a mountain peak at the end of the ditch, shaped like a chimney, so later generations called the ravine where Feng Bao lived in seclusion "Chimney Ditch" and the smoking mountain "Chimney Mountain".
Later, Feng Bao, Feng Sufu and others sneaked back to Longcheng and launched a coup d'état to overthrow Murong Xi and establish Gao Yun as the King of Yan, changing the yuan to the beginning of the Yuan Dynasty and calling it Northern Yan. After becoming the Emperor of Northern Yan, Feng Bao, in order to be grateful that the Great Black Mountain was the place where his Dragon Xing blessed, he named the Great Black Mountain as the Holy Mountain of Yandu and the backbone of Longcheng.
7. Gomi
The "Chronicle of Chaoyang County" records that shortly after the Mid-Autumn Festival in 1783, Qianlong was on his way back to the capital from Shengjing to worship the ancestors, passing through Chaoyang, and he specially led the civil and military officials to chaoyang Phoenix Mountain to worship the dragon ancestors.
On the way to worship, when Qianlong passed by the area of Huangdianzi, a farmer knelt by the imperial road, holding a crock pot of steaming small rice. Far away, Qianlong smelled the fragrance. Of course, Qianlong could not eat casually, so Qianlong ordered the eunuchs and palace ladies around him to try it. After eating it, the eunuchs and palace ladies all praised this small rice as "taste like meat" and "fragrant as tea".
After the worship, Qianlong lived in Chaoyang Youshun Temple, and when he had nothing to do, he ordered Chaoyang ZhiXian to send the best local millet. After Qianlong tasted it, it was exactly the same as what the eunuchs and palace women said, so the dragon heart was greatly pleased, named "pearl gongmi", and also passed down an edict, ordering Chaoyang Zhixian to present millet to the palace every year.
Since then, Chaoyang Millet has become Gongmi.
8. Sacred Water of the Divine Dragon
According to legend, when people built the Guanyin Temple here, in order to ensure the problem of drinking water, they had to run to 1.5 kilometers away every day to carry water.
One day, a white-haired old man who passed by begged for water from a man who had just returned from carrying water, and drank it in one breath, and then took out a small box and instructed the people to put it at the eye of the small spring. Unexpectedly, this small box was just placed on the spring, and the small box became a small dragon, and spat out clear running water from the dragon's mouth, and it flowed endlessly ever since.
Later, Qianlong North Patrol came here to see the holy water and blurted out "Sacred Dragon Holy Water".
