However, there are always people who can't see the facts clearly, think that they are strong in martial arts, and want to fight with Guan Yu. Cai Yang was one of them, and when Guan Yu passed five levels and beheaded six generals and wanted to go to Liu Bei, he led his elite troops to hunt down and kill Guan Yu, and the two fought under the ancient city. So how high is Cai Yang's martial arts? Why did he have to hunt down Guan Yu, who was at his peak, for thousands of miles? When the two of them played, how many times could he kill Guan Yu? The following are my personal views.
First of all, although Cai Yang's strength was not too low, he was not in the top state, and he was barely a second-rate martial artist. In fact, only from the perspective of correct history, it is not difficult for us to know that Cai Yang's ability is not high. After all, if it is a military general with strength and a certain record, there will definitely be a space in Chen Shou's "Romance of the Three Kingdoms".
However, Cai Yang does not exist in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and for whatever reason, it can be seen that Cai Yang is not a very important figure. But that's not to say he's undervalued. After all, Cai Yang is also a being who can be called the "Sword Ancestor".
After all, Cai Yang was also the Taishou of Runan, who had served under Cao Cao, and had also served as the commander of the First Army. In the sixth year of Jian'an (201 AD), he was ordered by Cao Cao to attack Liu Bei and Gong Du. Who can make Cao Cao so entrusted with such a heavy responsibility, how low will his strength go? According to the Yanyi record, Cai Yang's first appearance was after hearing the news that Guan Yu had not resigned, and asked Cao Cao for orders to pursue and kill Guan Yu, but was reprimanded by Cao Cao.
The second appearance was to lead the elite troops to pursue and kill Guan Yu for thousands of miles, and dueled with Guan Yu. And some people think that Cai Yang has the courage to hunt down and kill Guan Yu, which is enough to prove that his strength is not bad. Personally, I think this view is inevitably a bit one-sided, because after all, Cai Yang's final ending was killed by Guan Yu with a knife.
Second, Cai Yang wanted to avenge his nephew Qin Qi, or was angry that Cao Cao attached too much importance to him, so he chose to pursue and kill Guan Yu for thousands of miles. As mentioned above, Cai Yang only ran out to hunt him down after Guan Yu had passed five levels and slashed six generals. This is because Cai Yang wants to avenge his nephew Qin Qi. When Guan Yu met Xiahou Huan in the process of passing through the five levels, it was his subordinate Qin Qi who went into battle. However, Guan Yu did not match him and killed Qin Qi. According to the commentary:
Qin Qi was furious, and he raised his sword and took Guan Gong directly. The two horses intersected, only one, Guan Gong knife up, Qin Qi's head fell.
And Qin Qi died, how could Cai Yang, who was an uncle, sit idly by?
Hence a passage from the rendition:
The first general, Cai Yang, raised his sword and shouted, "You killed my nephew Qin Qi, but you fled here!" I have come to take you on the orders of the Prime Minister
Moreover, during Guan Yu's stay in Cao Ying, in order to win Over Guan Yu and reward him with official positions, Cao Cao sent Mei Ji, a BMW, and money and foreign objects, and many military generals under Cao Cao's command could not avoid feeling resentful when they saw this scene. Cai Yang, as the main general of the party, is naturally no exception. At this time, his nephew Qin Qi was beheaded by Guan Yu again, so Cai Yang, who was proud of his high strength, came to hunt down and kill Guan Yu with tens of thousands of elite soldiers. Therefore, cai yang chased and killed Guan Yu, there was also a reason.
Third, in general, Cai Yang's strength was not above Guan Yu, or even far lower than Guan Yu, so he could not kill Guan Yu. In fact, it is said that Cai Yang can kill Guan Yu several times. Personally, I think it is impossible for a clear-eyed person to see it, because Cai Yang is not Guan Yu's opponent at all. One was an unknown military general under Cao Wei, and the other was the head of the Five Tiger Generals of the Shu Han Dynasty who made Cao Cao want to win over.
Whether it is the difference in force or the gap in planning between the two people, it is self-evident, so a Wu whose strength is far inferior to Guan Yu will go head-to-head with Guan Yu in the future, and where will Guan Yu be killed by Cai Yang? Moreover, according to the Yanyi record, guan Yu killed Cai Yang without a single match when he faced him.
But Cai Yang didn't think so. Although Cao Cao cherished talents and ordered the defenders not to resist Guan Yu hard, after all, they had experienced a confrontation all the way, even if it was waterproof, guan Yu at this time had also experienced the obstruction of five levels and six generals, and had traveled day and night for more than a thousand miles, already tired, and people were sleepy and tired. Moreover, at this time, Guan Yu's left arm hit Han Fu with an arrow, and there was an injury in the body, and his strength would inevitably drop significantly.
That's why Cai Yang would be so conceited and choose to hunt down and kill Guan Yu for thousands of miles. But to Cai Yang's surprise, although Guan Yu was exhausted, he still killed Cai Yang in a second. According to the commentary:
Zhang Fei personally beat the drum. Only to see that a drum was not finished, where Guan Gong's knife was raised, Cai Yang's head had landed on the ground.
It can be seen from this that Cai Yang's martial arts are not very high, and he can rank among the second-rate martial artists. In order to avenge Qin Qi's revenge, he launched a thousand-mile hunt for him. However, the difference in strength between the two is too large, Cai Yang is far from Guan Yu's opponent, and he was killed by Guan Yu in one turn.
