At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Cao Cao had a general named Cai Yang, who was said to be the first brave general of Cao Ying, and was also known as the "Dao Zu" because he was good at making swords. To be revered as an "ancestor", he must have some superiority in the use of swords, but he was killed by Guan Yu with a plan. After Cai Yang died, he left a special custom that has been circulating until now. What kind of customs are there? Let's let Xiaobian reveal it to you.

At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Cai Yang served as the Taishou of Runan. Runan's county belonged to Cao Cao's territory, and Cai Yang was of course Cao Cao's subordinate. It is said that once, Cao Cao was inspecting the soldiers and horses in the martial arts field, and his subordinates showed their abilities, and Cai Yang made a big splash in this big competition, and a 3.2-meter-long large knife dance tiger and tiger was born, which won cao Cao and cao nodded. The other martial generals were not willing to be suppressed by the limelight, and took the initiative to challenge them, but they were all defeated one by one by their skills. Cao Cao commented at the time: Since ancient times, there were many generals who were good at using swords, and Cai's sword technique was unprecedented. Since then, Cai Yang has had the title of "Sword Ancestor".
How the Cai Yang Sword Technique is actually not to be said, but since Cao Cao's evaluation, he has also been among the famous generals in the late Eastern Han Dynasty. We now have a saying that once people become famous, they are somewhat "floating". The ancients were no exception, since having the title of Daozu, Cai Yang used the same sword for his contemporaries, but Guan Yu, who was much more famous than himself, was a little unconvinced, and always wanted to find an opportunity to compete with Guan Yu on the island.
This opportunity comes at a time. Guan Yu was separated from Liu Bei in a war, and in order to protect the two imperial concubines, he temporarily committed himself to Cao Cao. However, Guan Yu was in Cao Ying's heart in Han, and after later helping Cao Cao kill the two enemy generals Yan Liang and Wen Ugly, he hung up the seal and sealed the gold through five levels and beheaded the six generals, and went to surrender to Liu Bei. I don't want the eldest brother Liu Bei to see it yet, but I saw the third brother Zhang Fei first. But because he heard that Guan Yu was from Cao Ying, Zhang Fei suspected that he was a traitor. Just at this time, Cai Yang led the soldiers to chase after him.
Cai Yang chased after him for a reason. First, when Guan Yu passed the five levels and beheaded six generals, one of the generals killed was named Qin Qi, who was Cai Yang's nephew; second, because Cao Cao's subordinates had the responsibility to pursue and kill those who betrayed Cao Cao; the third reason was that Cai Yang wanted to defeat Guan Yu in sword techniques to prove that his title of "Dao Ancestor" was worthy of his name. In order to eliminate Zhang Fei's misunderstanding of himself, Guan Yu must also kill Cai Yang to prove his innocence.
This is an inevitable battle. As soon as the two men first picked up the move, Guan Yu found that the "sword ancestor" Cai Yang was not a vain name, and after a few rounds, the two did not distinguish between victory and defeat. But Zhang Fei thought that Guan Yu was acting to show himself, and shouted: I cheered for the second brother's drumming, the three-way drum sounded, if the second brother did not try his best, it was no wonder that the third brother did not recognize the second brother. After saying that, he "bang bang
Guan Yu shook his spirit, raised his knife and slapped his horse to fight again, how to resist Cai Yang saw the move, there was no panic, Guan Yu had no chance to take advantage of it. After a few more fights, Zhang Fei had already beaten the second drum. Guan Yu was anxious in his heart, and he was in a hurry, and suddenly the horizontal knife immediately stopped attacking.
Cai Yang felt confused and put away the knife. Just listen to Guan Yu say: Why do you want to ask for help when you say that you are fighting alone?
Cai Yang said: I am alone in battle, how can I help?
Guan Yu pointed his hand behind Cai Yang and said, "If there is no helper, who is that?"
As soon as Cai Yang turned his head, Guan Yu raised his knife and slapped the horse, and before Cai Yang could return to his senses, he took the knife in his hand and cut it down.
If this is true, then Guan Yu is indeed somewhat invincible. But Guan Yu also had his own grievances after all: he was exhausted after the thousand-mile trek; and he wanted to gain the trust of the third brother. Perhaps in his heart these two are the most important at the moment, as to whether his reputation is tainted or not. This may be one of the reasons why Guan Yu has become the embodiment of "benevolence".
In any case, this battle Cai Yang not only failed to justify his "Sword Ancestor" title, but lost his life. After Cai Yang died in battle, there is no record of his descendants in the historical records of the late Han Dynasty and the Three Kingdoms period. It is no wonder that it was an era of war and chaos, and the generals were their masters, fighting everywhere, and death and injury were inevitable. Cai Yang died suddenly, and he may not have yet come to pass on his exquisite sword skills to his children, so that his descendants were unknown. Or perhaps because of Cai Yang's death, his descendants were disgusted by the world of fighting, killing and killing, and chose to retire to a stable life.
Fast forward to the new century, and it is said that more than one-third of the townspeople living in Beigang Town, Yunlin County, are surnamed Cai, and they are all descendants of Cai Yang. There is also a special custom here, that is, the people there never worship the "Guan Gong" statue. Moreover, in the whole repression root of Beigang, there is no temple dedicated to Guan Gong. Perhaps in their hearts, their ancestors died very unjustly, and Guan Yu was famous for taking advantage of tricks and cheating and losing "benevolence, wisdom, courtesy, and righteousness".
In fact, looking back at this history, what is mentioned above may be a fabrication by later generations. Because it has been confirmed that Guan Yu has passed five levels and slashed six generals, it is only a fiction of the literary creation of the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", which is likely to not exist.
What is the historical truth? While we are going to fake the truth, we may as well think differently: even if Cai Yang was killed by Guan Yu, in such an era of chaotic strife, we have killed countless ancestors, some of them are forced, some are involuntarily. As those of us living in times of peace, only by maintaining this hard-won peace is the most important.
