Basal leaves are clustered, with short stalks, spoon-shaped leaves, 3.5–19 cm long and 1–5 cm wide, blunt at the apex, tapering at the base, and covered on both sides with long hard and short rough hairs with basal discs; The flowers are borne single in the leaf axils or outside the axillary, or in scorpion-tailed inflorescences, 6–16 cm long;
The bracts are narrowly ovate or lanceolate; the calyx is 5 deeply lobed, the lobes are narrowly oval, and there are long hard hairs on the back and edges; the corolla is pale blue or white, the corolla is slightly longer than the lobes, the lobes are nearly rounded, unfolded, and there are 5 appendages in the throat that are linear, hypertrophied, with papillae protrusions, and the apex is slightly absent; the stamens are 5, the filaments are short, and the inner part is born in the middle of the corolla; the ovary is small, the peduncle is short, the stigma is head-like, and 2 shallow lobes.
