Silver-breasted silk-crowned bird with a broad, sky-blue beak and orange base.
The lower back to the upper tail coverts are maroon, the upper back is smoky gray, the wing surface has a pronounced bright blue and white wing mirror, the wing margins of the wings are white, the wing corner feathers are decorated with light gray blue, and the coverts and feathers are bright black.
It is a tropical forest bird that feeds mainly on insects and also eats plant fruits. It inhabits various types of woods in tropical and subtropical areas.
