Wuchuan built a 5.7-hectare fishery breeding station reserve

On the afternoon of the 7th, the reporter learned from the Wuchuan Municipal Bureau of Oceanography and Fisheries that Wuchuan is currently building a 5.7-hectare fishery breeding station protection area, focusing on cultivating characteristic fishery resources such as sharp purple clams (sand snails) and other characteristic fishery resources of the Jianjiang River Estuary.

The relevant person in charge of the Wuchuan Municipal Bureau of Oceanography and Fisheries told reporters that the breeding station is located in the southeast of Wuyang Town's restricted administrative village, with an area of 5.7 hectares. The fishery breeding station, whose full name is fishery germplasm resources conservation and breeding station, is approved by the Provincial Development and Reform Commission and is a key project built to save the germplasm resources of Jianjiang Sand Snail, restore its biomass, and protect estuarine economic varieties and marine biodiversity. The fishery breeding station integrates research, breeding and breeding, and the construction content mainly includes the experimental building, the brackish water mixed treatment area, the seed preservation workshop, the biological bait workshop, the breeding workshop, the artificial seedling standard coarse area, the breeding test area, etc.

In order to protect rare aquatic species and fishery germplasm resources such as sand snails in the estuary of the Jianjiang River and maintain the diversity of aquatic species, Wuchuan City has planned and built a fishery breeding station integrating research, breeding and breeding according to actual needs, and selected suitable beaches to build a sand snail breeding protection area to protect sand snail resources.

The Jianjiang River is the most extensive and largest river in western Guangdong, and enters the sea in Huangpo Town and Wuyang Town in Wuchuan City, forming an estuarine water. Due to the high content of nutrient salts and trace elements caused by the confluence of brackish water, phytoplankton and plants are rich in aquatic products, of which sand snails and eels have a large production and are the main economic aquatic animals in the estuary of the Jianjiang River. Sand snails belong to the mollusk phylum, petal gills, curtain clams, purple cloud clams, distributed in the fujian and Guangdong coastal estuaries at the confluence of brackish water, camp submerged sand life. The snail meat is tender and delicious, and its nutritional value is high. The breeding of sand snails is very demanding on the salinity of water, and too salty and too light will lead to death. The breeding station is located on the seashore near the reservoir area of the Jianjiang Water Supply Hub Project, so that seawater and fresh water can be pumped and distributed to a salinity suitable for snail breeding.

After the completion of the project, it can protect and restore the rare germplasm resource of Jianjiang Sand Snail, and take into account other characteristic fishery resources of The Jianjiang Estuary, which has good economic and social benefits.
