The volume of the river channel has increased significantly, reaching its maximum in three years
This year's rainy season is as long as 50 days, which is 28 days longer than usual (22 days a year). A total of 9 rounds of heavy rainfall occurred in the province, of which 4 floods had a greater impact on the estuary of the Qiantang River.
The river road erosion caused the volume of the river below 5.17 meters from Hangzhou Gate to Haining Yanguan to increase from 374 million cubic meters in April to 515 million cubic meters in July, and the volume increased by 141 million cubic meters, reaching the maximum value since 2018; the river road erosion also caused the low tide level of the stations along the river to decrease, the tidal difference increased, and the tidal power was increasing. Autumn tide on September 20 (the fourth day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar) Jiuxi and other places have a surge of tide on the pond.
The low water level is not low, resulting in a significant increase in the height of the tide
The low water level mainly depends on the discharge flow of the Fuchun River Reservoir, and the increase of the discharge flow not only raises the low water level of the Qiantang River, but also raises the high tide level when the tide arrives.
For example, during the high tide in the early august lunar month of the Hangzhou Jiuxi River section of the Qiantang River, the low water level before the tide was 0.86 meters higher than that in the same period at the beginning of the seventh month of the lunar calendar; at the same time, the tide water traced from Haining at the mouth of the Qiantang River to the Hangzhou Jiuxi River section reached 6.7 meters, which was more than 1 meter higher than the beginning of July, so it also indirectly led to the Jiuxi tidal pond on September 20, causing road traffic accidents.
The starting tide position has a trend of moving easterly compared with previous years, and there may be new options for tide viewing areas
Affected by the downward movement of the estuary, the tide starting point has changed, and with reference to the recent scientific investigation results of the tide point, it is shown that the tide start point of the Qiantang River is roughly located in the east of the Haiyan Huangshawu Drainage Gate and the Yuyao Linhaipu Gate, which has moved nearly 5 kilometers east compared with 10 years ago.

Recent observations have shown that cross-tides have occurred in the upper and lower reaches of the Jiashao Bridge and the section from the old warehouse in Haining to the big gap; the second degree tide of Haining Eight Forts; the first line tide of Haining Yanguan; the old salt warehouse of Haining, the beauty dam of Xiaoshan, and the tide of return and meeting near Jiuxi in Hangzhou are more spectacular, and the viewing degree of the tide this autumn has been greatly improved.
The tide of the Qianjiang River should be good-looking, mainly affected by factors such as the shape of the estuary, the estuary sand, the astronomical tide, the tide difference, and the wind direction and wind force. A glimmer of tide
The best viewing location for the first line of tide is located in the Guanchao Resort Park in Yanguan Town, Qiantang River, which was once the fortress of Haimen in The Ancient Town of Yanguan, and is the key point connecting the city and the seashore.
From a distance, the white line on the Qiantang River turned into a white ribbon and slowly drifted in, and the sound of a brushing rain also came with the wind. "The tide is coming!" A "jiaolong" soared in jiangnan, stirring up huge waves, and near the Yanguan Zhan'ao Pagoda, the "jiaolong" that was originally undulating turned into a white wall of water and rushed straight to the opposite shore, forming a spectacular line of tide.
Cross Tide (Bump Tide)
At 8 kilometers east of Yanguan on the Shanghai-Hangzhou Highway, there is a big bend, which is Dingqiao (East), where there is a spectacular cross tide (encounter tide) that resembles the first line tide of Yanguan.
DingQiao and the nearby Bapao Waterfront is a wide beach that is shaped like a dragon head. When the tide came, it changed the normal state of only the eastern tide, and even came from the south bank. The white waves of the south tide rolled over, the black waves of the east tide surged, and after ten minutes, the two tides merged, stirring up clusters of waves, and the two tides crossed in the shape of a "ten" on the river surface, and at the intersection point, huge waves were stirred up from time to time.
Turning back tide
Since the confluence of the Eight Forts, the Haining Tide has continued to flow westward through the Salt Officer. Along the way , the momentum gradually weakened due to the resistance of mud and flowing water at the bottom of the river.
As the tide traveled westward to the old salt barn, it was intercepted by a 650-meter-long and 9-meter-high T-shaped dam. When the tide approached the dam, with a "boom", the surge of water flew straight into the sky, forming a water curtain hundreds of meters long, and due to the dam's horizontal river blocking, the upright tide turned back, forming a strange tide.
Recently, the Qiantang River has been flooded by the tide or the sea pond, and the small partners must pay attention to personal safety when watching the tide.
Nine Creeks Section
The plane position near the Jiuxi drainage gate is "∩", the geographical location is special, after the Jiuxi surge tide to the drainage and irrigation station encounters obstacles, there is a return tide and the rear traveling tide collides in the opposite direction, the water level increases, the tide height exceeds the sea pond anti-wave wall, and pours into Zhijiang Road.
Hangzhou seven grid segments
Hangzhou Seven Grid is located in the north bank of the Qiantang River Jiubao Bridge downstream, located in the Qiantang River "concave" bank, after the tide passes through the Xiasha Bridge (the south bank is a concave bank), the mainstream of the tide travels from the south bank to the north, the direction points to the north bank, in the north bank Pantou, Gaoding Dam location and the sea pond after being blocked, rushing to the pond surface.
The Great Gap goes upstream to The Eight Forts
At the observation point of the New Warehouse Surge Tide, after the north-south tide crossover, the east tide is late after the south tide. By the time the east tide reaches the upper reaches of the big gap, the tide level has been raised by about 2 to 3 meters, and it is easy to get into the pond.
In addition, near the Meinu Dam in Xiaoshan, Hangzhou, the Qijia Drainage and Irrigation Gate on the South Bank, the Xiaoshan Drainage and Irrigation Gate and some intersecting buildings, there is a "meeting tide" that has been increased by multiple reflections, and the height of the tide is very large.
