Breast disease is detected at the highest rate in menopausal women
At the press conference, experts made a comprehensive interpretation of the "2021 Chinese Women's Breast Health Pink Report".
More than 80% of the 3253870 adult women who participated in breast examinations between July 2020 and June 2021 underwent breast ultrasound examinations. Statistics show that the detection rate of breast abnormalities (abnormalities found by breast ultrasound examination) is 32.21%.
The age distribution data of breast abnormalities show that breast abnormalities are the highest detection rate of breast abnormalities in female clients aged 40-49 years, 39.95%, followed by 60 years and above, 50-59 years old, 30-39 years old, and 18-29 years old.
Among female clients who performed breast ultrasound examinations, breast nodules (including different types of nodules such as solid breast nodules and breast cystic nodules) had the highest detection rate, at 25.68%.
【Emergency】
These four areas become the "hardest hit areas" of breast abnormalities
Statistics show that the four regions with high breast abnormality detection rate are South China, East China, Central China and Northeast China, and the breast abnormality detection rate is more than 30%.
It may be due to the high economic level in these areas, the fast pace of women's lives, and the pressure in the workplace.
Areas with low rates of breast abnormalities are southwest and northwest, which may be related to lifestyle habits in the region.
【Attention】
These practitioners are at higher risk
The detection rate of breast abnormalities in female customers in the financial, market and energy industries was higher, at 35.37%, 33.85% and 33.25% respectively.
It may be related to factors such as the high level of education of women in these industries, relatively high socioeconomic status, fast pace of life, high mental stress, and relatively late childbearing age and age.
【Reminder】
Stay away from these risk factors
Data released by the American Cancer Society shows that risk factors for breast cancer include lifestyle-related risk factors and uncontrollable risk factors.
Lifestyle-related risk factors include alcohol consumption, overweight or obesity, physical inactivity, non-fertility, non-breastfeeding, use of hormonal contraceptives, postmenopausal hormone therapy, and breast implants (breast augmentation).
Uncontrollable risk factors include: gender factors (female), age factors (older age), genetic factors (BRCA1/2 gene mutations, etc.), family history of breast cancer, previous history of breast cancer, ethnicity, height (the greater the risk of height), breast tissue density, certain benign breast diseases, early menarche (especially before the age of 12 years), late menopause (menopause after age 55), radiation therapy on the chest, and exposure to hexylestildiol.
【Screening】
Checked once a year starting at the age of 35
In 2014, the data released by The Lancet showed that the median age of breast cancer diagnosis in China was 48-50 years old, and regular physical examination and health examination were important measures for the early detection of breast diseases.
Recommendations: Chinese women should start at the age of 35, the frequency of breast examinations is recommended once a year; if the age > 35 years old, and women with a family history of breast cancer, it is recommended to shorten to once every six months; if there is a BRCA gene mutation, women need to be screened regularly from the age of 20. On the basis of palpation, targeted tests such as ultrasonography, mammography, MRI mammography, and tumor markers are selected.

Male breast cancer mortality
19% higher than women
Many people think that breast cancer is a disease that only women get, will men get breast cancer?
The answer is yes, according to statistics, male breast cancer patients in China account for about 1% of breast cancer patients, most of whom are middle-aged and elderly. And it's even less friendly to men, and recently, a large-scale study showed that male breast cancer patients have a higher mortality rate, 19% higher than women.
Clinical findings have shown that young men with breast diseases are mainly related to obesity and eating habits, while elderly breast disease patients are mostly related to long-term alcohol abuse and oral hormone drugs. Alcohol is easy to damage the metabolic function of the liver, and the liver undertakes the decomposition and excretion of estrogen in the male body, excessive alcohol consumption will lead to the accumulation of estrogen in the body, causing breast hypertrophy and increasing the risk of breast cancer.
Zhang Yanan, chief physician of the Breast Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Center of the Affiliated University Hospital of Southeast University, pointed out that in the clinical diagnosis and treatment process, it was also found that many male breast cancer patients were already in the middle and advanced stages when they were diagnosed with breast cancer patients, and there was metastasis of lymph and other organs.
This is mainly due to the low awareness of breast cancer in men, many men still think that only women will get breast cancer, usually do not pay attention to their breast health problems, so it is too late to find out. As a result, treatment will be more difficult, and many breast cancer patients will be older at the time of treatment, which will lead to lower overall survival rates than female breast cancer patients.
Experts remind that there are many male breast disease patients in life who are ashamed to seek medical treatment, and there are also many people who dare not go to the doctor because of the fear of surgery, in fact, it is not necessary to go to a regular hospital for treatment, clarify the cause, and carry out simple preoperative examination to exclude surgical contraindications.
Experts suggest that men should also learn to self-examination, if the breast feels furuncle or hard, which may be a rich breast in the breast, it must be examined, especially middle-aged and elderly men, once found that the breast has a hard lump should go to the hospital in time to check, to rule out the possibility of breast cancer, but also to avoid missing the best treatment time.
Usually try to keep a cheerful mood, do sports diligently, such as long-distance running, swimming, etc., eat more vegetables and fruits, eat less foods with high fat or excessive hormone content, do not eat tonics containing estrogen, do not be long-term alcoholism, and patients with cirrhosis should be wary of breast diseases or the possibility of breast cancer.
