Breast cancer mortality rate in men is 19% higher than in women
According to reports, some time ago, a study published by researchers at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in JAMA Oncology Online found that the overall mortality rate of male patients was 19% higher than that of female patients by comparing the mortality rate of male and female breast cancer patients and quantitatively evaluating the factors associated with the difference in gender mortality, and in male patients, 63.3% of excess mortality was related to clinical features and insufficient treatment.
Chief Physician Zhang Yanan introduced that in the clinical diagnosis and treatment process, it was also found that many male breast cancer patients were already in the middle and advanced stages when they detected breast cancer, and there was metastasis of lymph and other organs. This is mainly due to the low awareness of breast cancer in men, and many men still think that only women will get breast cancer, and usually do not pay attention to their breast health problems.
Both men and women must learn breast self-examination
Experts recommend that women aged 30 to 40 be examined for ultrasound once a year; women over 40 years old are recommended to have a molybdenum scan once a year. Both men and women must learn breast self-examination.
Female breast self-examination, once a month, the examination must be comprehensive, to cover the two breasts, around the nipple and armpits of the three parts, careful pressure examination.
