Ambassador Deng Ying, a female diplomat who has been stationed in Denmark for nearly two years, is leaving office.

According to the official website of the Chinese Embassy in Denmark, on April 26, Chinese Ambassador to Denmark Deng Ying held a reception at the Embassy, attended by more than 200 people from all walks of life, including Danish Court Attendant Chief Alan Ritchie, Foreign Minister Roth, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of National Defense Arunkill, head of the diplomatic mission in Denmark, Icelandic Ambassador to Denmark Johansson, and envoys from various countries in Denmark, as well as chinese overseas Chinese, overseas Chinese students and representatives of Chinese-funded institutions.

Ambassador Deng Ying reviewed the work done since his mission to Denmark, and said that he was honored to do his part for the in-depth development of the China-Denmark comprehensive strategic partnership and the smooth start of the "New Decade" journey, thanked the Danish royal family, the government, the parliament, all sectors of society, as well as the diplomatic missions in Denmark, Chinese-funded institutions and overseas Chinese in Denmark for their strong support, and thanked the embassy colleagues for their diligent work. It is hoped that the two countries will seize the opportunity of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and strive to promote the sustained and healthy development of China-Denmark relations in the new era.

According to the official resume, Deng Ying, who was born in March 1959, served in the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a long time, and from 1985 to 1998, he served as a clerk, attaché, third secretary, deputy director and director of the protocol department, and then was appointed as deputy consul general in Los Angeles for 4 years.

In 2002, Deng Ying returned to the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and served as deputy director for 11 years. In 2013, Deng Ying became Ambassador to Croatia and later became the new Ambassador to Denmark in July 2017.

On January 9, 1950, Denmark recognized the new China, and the two countries formally established diplomatic relations on May 11 of the same year, and Denmark was also the second Western country after Sweden to establish diplomatic relations with China. On February 15, 1956, the two countries upgraded the legation to an embassy and exchanged ambassadors. In October 2008, the two countries jointly issued the Joint Statement of the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark on Establishing a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
