Liu Siyan, 34, president of the Haicheng Volunteer Service Association, lost his right arm in an unexpected car accident when he was 14. Later, Liu Siyan was invited to become one of the leaders of the "Bird's Nest Special Actor Casting Studio", helping film and television companies to screen and recommend disabled people to participate in the filming of film and television works, and he himself has participated in films such as "Eight Hundred" and "King Kong Chuan".

Liu Siyan said that on December 23 last year, he and more than 20 special actors from all over the country received a notice from the crew to participate in the filming of the movie "Chosin Lake". After receiving the notice, they quickly came to the Beijing crew to assemble, and at two o'clock in the morning the next day, Liu Siyan and other special actors rushed to the shooting scene. The filming scene was a large abandoned factory area, and although it was early in the morning, hundreds of actors dressed in volunteer costumes lined up neatly to prepare for filming. Liu Siyan said that they mainly played the wounded, participating in the filming of two scenes in the field hospital treating the wounded and soldiers on the eve of boarding the train.

Liu Siyan said that a set of shots was repeated many times, but the actors were meticulous every time. Although the volunteer clothes everyone wore were cotton clothes, the northern winter was dry and cold, and even if there was no wind, they still felt that their hands and ears were as cold as if they were immersed in ice, not to mention that many volunteers wore single clothes during the war. Although the time involved in the filming was only two days, Liu Siyan was full of emotions: "Although we are filming, we can also feel the fierceness of the war and the hardship of the combat environment."
