In order to truly show the hard life of the Tibet aid workers, the film "Watching the Heavenly Lake" did not choose a relatively low altitude area to shoot, but selected and built real scenes in Shigatse City at an altitude of 3600 meters, Chongba Yongcuo in Khamma County at an altitude of 4800 meters, and Ang Ren County at an altitude of 4900 meters. In such a high-altitude area, a few hours of filming, the cast and crew are all gray-headed, their mouths are full of sand, and even the daily water required during the shooting process is very tense, washing their faces and gargling on the shooting site is a luxury, and they must all complete the day's shooting tasks and return to the station to solve. In the face of so many difficulties, the entire cast and crew of "Watching the Heavenly Lake" still worked hard to overcome and made this film that condenses the holy friendship between the people of Shandong and Tibet.
According to director Tang Jingrui, when he first went to Chongba Yongcuo in Kangma County, where the main scene was filmed, he was shocked by the power of nature and could not express it. Later, in order to capture the most beautiful natural scenes, they once sent a special team to stay in a hydrological station for a week to shoot the local sunrise and sunset. "In order to shoot a shot of clouds moving fast in the sky, we might have to shoot for thirty or forty minutes to get the effect." (Koryo)
